25.01.2022 This week Sarah and the Ujjayi Yoga Tas community will open our new doors and welcome you to come and practise yoga with us in our beautiful studio. Our new website, program and online bookings will be launched on Monday. We will share our own authentic yoga, the yoga that we have explored over many years of experience; yoga that has helped us to transform and live resourceful and resilient lives; yoga that helps us to live our truth; yoga that gives back the best to our fami...lies and community. There are a great many forms of a yoga practise; postures, breathing, cleansing, meditation, cultivating knowledge, giving back to community, devotion, living in your values. Our invitation is to come and be curious, explore yoga and what it may offer you. There is opportunity to develop strength, resilience, flexibility and balance of body, mind and self. Ujjayi means 'to be victorious' and we believe you deserve to live victorious. At Ujjayi we aim to build a community and culture that supports the exploration of yoga, so that you can take the bits that work, leave the bits that don't, and develop an individual yoga practise that can help you live your victorious life! 23.01.2022 It has been such an honour to open our doors to everyone here at Ujjayi over the past couple of months. In the year of this pandemic, I am especially grateful and honoured to have been able to re-open our studio and share community with you all. We are going to take a couple of weeks now to relax, rejuvenate, and evolve off the yoga mats, and look forward to welcoming you all back in 2021.



23.01.2022 At Ujjayi Yoga Tas we share a revolutionary Hatha Yoga! So what does that even mean??? Ujjayi means to be victorious. ... We take traditional yoga postures and practises (leaving all that stuff thats good) and then add a modern twist to things so that you can get the most out of your yoga practise. I've been practising yoga for 17 years now, and think I've sorted through a lot of the nonsense to be able to bring you the stuff that really works and feels good, the yoga that can cause dramatic change in your life! Hatha is an ancient branch of yoga that begins by preparing the body for life with physical activities such as yoga postures and breath work. This physical practise helps us to develop a strong platform for our inner mental, emotional and spiritual selves and outward relationships to thrive. Hatha Yoga teaches that when our body is strong, resilient and unburdened by disturbances, we can truly begin to relish and explore the other aspect of living to the fullest. Yoga is really just about bring all this together, recognising what feels good and finding the practises that help us to get there. 20.01.2022 Hi everyone, wow what a beautiful first week it has been here at the new Ujjayi studio. Thank you to everyone who has come in over the past couple of weeks to help us create such a beautiful energy in this space. I particularly want to thank Claire, Renu and Sharon for coming in sharing their yoga with us all - I've already learnt so much and its really is inspiring to be sharing space with these wonderful women who are helping to shaping my personal yoga practise and the Ujj...ayi community. Over the coming weeks our program will continue to grow, we will introduce our teachers, open up the sauna and announce our upcoming workshops and events! There is so much ahead of us, thank you for the beautiful start to Ujjayi at George street, with gratitude, Sarah

Tomorrow night is a full moon, so that means our regular Relax class is changes to a full moon lunar yoga practise with Claire Holloway at 5:45 pm. Come along and connect to your inner cycles with this energising practise. If you love it, you can make a fortnightly (or so) practise of linking your yoga with the phases of the moon. 13.01.2022 This time of year I find the warmth of the morning light so rewarding, it's like I can hardly remember the depth of winter any more when the sun doesn't rise until 8am. I'm a big fan of getting up with this early light to practice yoga and start the day with some breath and a stretch when the light is particularly nice in the studio. Before it's winter again, why not take advantage of the amazing early summer light and the quiet of the early morning to see if you could benefit from a 7am yoga practice once a week? See you on the mat tomorrow at 7am.

08.01.2022 Claire is sharing her last Lunar Yoga session for the year, Monday 14th Dec, at 5:45 pm and we hope that you can join us, spaces are limited so book via the website today. It really has been such a rewarding experience, for myself, to share the rhythms of the lunar cycles with Claire over the past couple of months. If you haven't made it to a Lunar Yoga session yet and wondering what it is all about, Claire is hosting a workshop and introduction to Lunar Yoga early in the ne...w year. During this workshop, Claire will let you know all about the benefits of connecting to your inner and outer rhythms and just what the Lunar Yoga practice is all about. It could also make a fantastic new year's resolution to make a commitment to connecting with rhythm - and coming to the workshop in the new year will be an opportunity to set the foundations for your Launr Yoga practice.

04.01.2022 The second workshop in our workshop series is on this Friday 23rd October with the basics of seated posture alignment lead by studio owner Sarah. These sessions will be great for people new to yoga who want to establish some basics, people who experience any pain during yoga (often there is no need if we find correct individualised alignment), or people who want to connect a little deeper to their practise of postures and their body. Alignment can be very individualised, how...ever we often don't get the time in a yoga class to explore what really work for our own bodies. During this session we will slow right down and explore the basics of standing and standing posture variations. Sarah will offer lots of support, hints and tips to help you sit and kneel with more ease and satisfaction and no pain.
