25.01.2022 Joan and I are heading off on another trip in early March and well be spreading the Ukefreaks message for over 12,000 klms through Qld, NSW, Vic, S.A. and W.A. Hopefully well create some interest amongst the travelling Uke players

19.01.2022 Ukefreaks is taking a "Virus Break" In the interests of all our members we have cancelled all Ukefreaks Jam Sessions until we are clear of the Kovid19 Virus. We'll post again when we feel it is safe for us to get together again. Let's hope we can all get plenty of practice and come back bigger and better after our forced break.

19.01.2022 Exciting News for our Christmas Breakup on Wednesday 27th November. Were holding our break-up night at the Club Hotel in Railway St. Lowood from 6.00 - 9.00pm. It should be a fun night. Food and Drinks are available. Bring along any family or friends if youd like to. Be prepared for a "huge" night!

19.01.2022 Just a reminder for those attending the kindy performance next Wednesday - we are meeting at 9.45 am and the performance will run from 10.00 am until 11.00 am - looking forward to seeing those who are available there

18.01.2022 Ukefreaks have been invited to play for the Fernvale Disability Group again - on Wednesday 4th December from 10.00 - 11.30. Please let me know if youd like to be a part of this event. We should practise a few Christmas songs for this one!

17.01.2022 Good evening Ukefreaks - given the absence this week of Joan, Mike and Cheryl l had volunteered to bring the case on Wednesday night however l have just had an unexpected and unavoidable family commitment arise so l was wondering if someone else is available to take the case, mark off attendance and collect the money please?? Sorry to be a nuisance - I can drop the case off if it suits or it could be picked up from my work in Lowood tomorrow - thanks Janine

10.01.2022 Look at these great photos of our members and their various instruments at last nights get together. Lyndell brought her electronic keyboard along and Judy had fun playing her new "resonator" ukulele!!! Everyone was very happy to welcome our friend Pete back from his long overseas trip !!! Last night we practised some Christmas tunes in anticipation of our big gig at Lowood Kindy next week . As many of our members will be busy with festive season commitments during De...cember & January next Wednesday will be our last session until the New Year. 09.01.2022 Ukefreaks welcomed 3 new members over the last couple of weeks - Malcolm, Dan and Sue. They all seem to be having a ball in our Wednesday Jam Sessions at Club Hotel Motel in Lowood. It was a humid and stormy night last night - but a few coldies soon got us playing up our own storm!

08.01.2022 Were looking forward to another fun night tonight Club Hotel Motel in Lowood. Last Wednesday we had a ball! There were some terrific comments from the patrons and the staff. I reckon the icy cold beers may have loosened up some of the Ukefreaks inhibitions! Come and join us at the Club - enjoy a drink or a feed, maybe singalong - or, if you have a Uke - bring it along. And remember - were at the Club Hotel each Wednesday from 6.00 to 9.00 pm.

04.01.2022 Vale Bill Prince On September 13th we lost a dear friend, a lover of ukulele and a dedicated Ukefreak. Bill will always be remembered for his passion for music and his touch of larrikinism. We remember him from the earliest days of Ukefreaks when we were all sitting around our dining room table playing our beloved Ukes. Bill always sat next to me and after many songs, he would turn to me with a glint in his eye, and say a bit fast there, old son! He always stirred my pot ...and kept me on my toes. Id like to think that we may share some more memories and some of Bills favourite songs at our next Ukefreaks session. At this sad time our thoughts and prayers go out to Cheryl and her family we can only imagine what they are going through. Rest in peace, our friend. You will be forever in our minds. Mike and Joan.

04.01.2022 Hi All, Were looking for volunteers to run occasional Ukefreaks sessions when either Mike and Joan or Cheryl may be unavailable on a particular Wednesday. Basically it requires the key to be picked up around 2.00 pm on the Wednesday afternoon from the Lowood Hub, and opening and closing of the hall (the key is left in the kitchen after we finish) Please let me know if we can put your name down on a list - wed hate to see the group miss out on nights due to lack of someone to run a night.

02.01.2022 Wednesday turned out to be another great night for 9 Ukefreaks at Club Hotel Motel in Lowood. Were always looking for new members - so if you play the Uke - or would like to learn how to play - come and join us - its always good fun. If youd like to join us just for a sing-along - you can do that too and enjoy the fun and maybe an icy cold beer or a meal while youre there.
