19.01.2022 + Едвард Кульчицький With hope in the Resurrection we mourn the passing of parishioner Edward Kulchycki who feel asleep in the Lord surrounded by his loving fam...ily. Edward was a committed member of the St Aphanasius parish, and great contributor to Ukrainian community life in NSW, and further a field. His work in the cultural arts, be it as the Director for the Sydney School for Bandura, Plast, Ukrainian Studies Foundation in Australia greatly enriched all these organisations with his wisdom and knowledge.Edwards rich bass voice was always welcomed be it in the Church choir or at the many concerts and engagements where he would be asked to share this gift with his community. The funeral for the newly reposed servant of God, Edward will be served on Wednesday, 10 February commencing at 10am at St Aphanasius Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Granville, with the rite of burial to follow at Rookwood Cemetery (Ukrainian Orthodox section) Our sincere condolences to his loving wife Iryna, his children and grandson along with his extended family in USA and Ukraine. ВЧНАЯ ПАМЯТЬ Please note due to COVID 19 restrictions on places of worship only 30 persons (Family and close relations) will be able to be present in the Church. There will be additional space on the Church grounds for mourners.

17.01.2022 It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Pan Namuren. A founding member of our Hromoda, Pan Namuren and his entire family have been longtime supporters of our community and Hromada, including supporting the original Cabramatta Ukrainian School where he was a very well respected teacher. Our Uprava and our Hromada pass on our sincere sympathies to the Namuren family. Вчная Пам'ять.

14.01.2022 Our Hromada at Cabramatta-Fairfield would like to congratulate the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations on this very important and worthy initiative, and will be donating $2,000 to the Kolyada for Australia campaign.

10.01.2022 Members and guests of our Hromada enjoyed a beautiful afternoon of Carols singing and Ukrainian food at our domivka at Cabramatta on Sunday 22nd December. We have many people and groups to thank who contributed to such a warm and enjoyable festive atmosphere including the Ukrainian Women’s Association - Knyahynya Olhy Branch, led by Olga Moskviak and Nelya Babinets, who provided a delicious Ukrainian menu for lunch, St Andrew’s Ukrainian Catholic School Sydney including stude...nts, teachers and parents, for another great performance including poems, singing and bandura performances, and our local choir, Sutsvittya Ukrainian Women’s Ensemble, for their Carols performances as well as leading the full hall in a carols sing along. Our Hromada would also like to thank Mrs Luba Moskal, Mr Sikorski and Mrs Paraskevia Hreszczuk for their contributions in poetry, singing and festive stories, plus Father Stefanyshyn for joining us and leading us in prayer through singing a very well known carol. Finally a big thank you to Mrs Odarka Brecko for leading our program, as well as Veronica Necyporuk, Marko Shumsky and Paul Hreszczuk from our committee plus little Ruby H., for their help in preparations before hand and on the day.
