24.01.2022 Knowing about Australia's rich origins is part of social awareness, life skills and believe it or not, navigating the country in general. So we want to begin our journey of delivering life skills, social education and emotional intelligence learning spaces by acknowledging the traditional custodians of the land on which U-Learn conducts its activities throughout Australia. We pay our respects to their elders past, present and emerging. For more information: https://www.vic.gov.au//welcome-to-country-and-acknowledge

23.01.2022 *****ANNOUNCING NEW PROGRAM - CONNECTING CULTURES***** ****FREE! BOOKING REQUIRED***** A societal transition: In the 21st century, the world is facing major shifts, most prominently urbanisation, globalisation and advancement of the technology at a rapid rate. This means is that we’re more connected than ever and learning from parts of the world that we were previously not connected to. It also means that we’re exposed to different cultures, religions, and ways of life consta...ntly. As a result, information and interaction continues to empower people but can also present challenges including misinformation, conflict amongst differing opinions and a decrease in the overall health and well-being of a society. Connecting cultures is about bridging gaps between cultural, religious and geo-location groups across Australia to create a more cohesive and inclusive society. This is a 6-month capacity building program, where participants take part in monthly workshops, meet subject matter experts and work collaboratively to address common goals. Being able to interact with a community different from yours is a life skill in today's world and one that we think is incredibly valuable. This program is more than just cultural competency - it's reflective, breaking down stereotypes, about building understanding, trust and solving problems together! Book your place now by visiting www.ulearn.org.au/programs or email us at [email protected] for the online form!

22.01.2022 The likes of Peter Guber (CEO, Mandalay Entertainment; #1 NYT Bestselling Author) and Priyanka Chopra (Actor, Philanthropist, Entrepreneur), may be different in very many ways, but they have something super important in common - they both regard self-awareness and self-care as a key in career and life success. The best thing about self-awareness and care is that ANYONE can learn it. It’s a skill and one of the first we cover in our #HowToAdult program for young people. Find ...out more about the program by subscribing to our mailing list on ulearn.org.au. 19.01.2022 What a day! We spent our Wednesday at the Foundation for Young Australians (FYA) hub hanging out with young people and discussing #adultingandstuff. We played games (collaborative drawing and non-verbal expression), talked about the things that no one gives "instructions" on when you become an adult like making friends and shared online #futureofwork resources courtesy of FYA's online knowledge bank. Thank you to those of you who came and gave your full attention, self and op...ened up in the room and to those of you who have supported this crash course. More to come - head to our website (ulearn.org.au) to stay updated! #lifeskills #emotionalintelligence #ulearnhowtoadult #howtoadult #makingfriends #BeinganadultIshard #ULearn #UnconventionalLearning #youth #youngpeople #education #life #EQ #emotionalintelligence #lifetransitions #melbourne #Oz #crashcourseinlife #crashcourse

11.01.2022 U-Learn stands in solidarity with the Muslim community and we pay our respect and condolences to those who are hurting, to the lives lost, to the injured and the families. We design our programs interculturally to create a space for conversations associated with emotions and this week has been one of many emotions for many people. Sometimes overwhelming ones that need unpacking, extra support and people. Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research has prepared some practical tips... to deal with the incidents, and as an organisation whose purpose is to support individuals mental health by sharing life skills, we think these are pretty accessible and important. If you need to talk to someone professional, please reach out to dedicated organisations including: Lifeline on 13 11 14 headspace on https://headspace.org.au/eheadspace/ Kids Helpline Official 1800 55 1800

10.01.2022 U-Learn's origins came from a number of experiences and encounters. The Inaugural Youth Mental Health forum held by Consumers Health Forum of Australia in September 2018, was one of these where our founder was an attendee and passionate about the need for preventative models in enhancing overall health and wellbeing among young people. Check out this media release by CHF to learn more about the forum: https://chf.org.au//young-australian-leaders-call-youth-fo

06.01.2022 You know that time when a young person is feeling a certain way and they can’t seem to express it? It’s possible that they are struggling to identify it themselves. This is why emotional self-awareness is really important. It affects communication with parents, thinking clearly and also helps us form values as we figure out how different things make us feel! #emotions #selfawareness #communication... #workplace #home #talkaboutit See more

06.01.2022 This is why U-Learn was formed: to make sure that when people come out of school their skills match the real world. Get in touch with us to be part of the pilot or for more information about our Adulting program!

04.01.2022 First day back to school and yet another life transition that thousands of young people will be going through today. So remember to be empathetic, compassionate and supportive in a scary time for many many students. Some questions we like to ask when students get home are:... - What made you happy today and what made you laugh? - What made you upset today? Why? - What would you like to do differently tomorrow? - What did you learn today that was new? - What did you hear about that you already knew about? #backtoschool #transition

03.01.2022 Young adulthood is all about major transitions that can sometimes be daunting and challenging. Now more than ever, we need spaces where young people can explore, grow and develop soft skills to navigate life and work after school. Even during the lockdown, we’re aiming to create these spaces online to ensure young adulthood is a supported experience with access to useful tools, tricks and tips. The How-To-Adult Crash Course program will run bite-size hourly online workshops over the month of July. These are designed to create awareness about soft skills, engage with tools to develop the skills and foster a community that shares the experience. We're excited to share the July series for young people in Wyndham and the western suburbs!

03.01.2022 We've gone online because we still think it's important to talk about "how to adult" especially in the current contexts. Sign up today to join the sessions!
