22.01.2022 This weeks Mindset Monday is FRESH STARTS . Every single person has the opportunity every single day to make a fresh start . If your child fell off their bike you wouldn’t think oh well may as well kick them while their down NO YOU WOULDN’T, you’d pick them up gently, soothe their worries and pop them straight back on with confidence. The question is why aren’t do we doing this to ourselves??... . So many times I see people falling off the bandwagon and struggling to get back on time and time again, they beat themselves up and punish themselves for falling off only in turn to fall off again. I did this. Many many times. What I learnt from this process was that the kinder I was to myself for falling off, each time I stayed on the bandwagon a little longer or my fall wasn’t so hard. 21.01.2022 PROTEIN MUG CAKE 300 cals (34p, 29c, 6f) . Delicious way to get some extra protein in while satisfying that sweet craving .... CAKE: - 1 scoop @asnsupplements WPI - 1 egg (can use egg whites depending on your macros) - 20g buckwheat flour (can use almond flour for lower carbs but not as fluffy) - 1/2 tsp baking powder - 1 tsp stevia . TOPPING: - 100g mixed berries - 1 tsp stevia . METHOD: Spray oil (I use coconut) in the mug to prevent sticking, mix all cake ingredients with water until at a batter like consistency in a separate bowl then add to prepared mug. Place berries and stevia in a separate mug and put both mugs in the microwave for around 1.5 mins (this will vary depending on your microwave) you want the cake a little raw in the middle so it’s not dry. Tip the cake out into a bowl, mash the berries a little with a fork and drizzle over the top. 01.01.2022 I can’t help but laugh when I see dietary advice like this on the Internet! years ago I would have believed something like this... Reason why this is so deceiving is that the food on the left is more nutrient dense (as in more vitamins and minerals) and has a lower a lower GI (Glycemic index), lower GI means the food will stay in the stomach a lot longer leading to more satiety after a meal, higher GI foods trigger gastric emptying almost instantly, which is why when you... eat a burger and fries you are hungry again an hour later. It’s not all calories in calories out, we don’t want to starve, if we starve we are more vulnerable to cheating and binging on bad food.
