04.01.2022 Thank you to all who came last night and all who played (SO GUUD!!) and also all who paid!!! It was incredible to see, hear and feel such a Real creative wild and talented congregation of experimental electronic arts, and the vibe from everyone who attended was lovely. It is a Rare privlage and something we are working hard at cultivating on the reg. For those who dont know we are a non for profit space so no one who organised these events gets any financial benifit an...d because We are an art space not a pub so we rely on the donation on the door and our INCREDIBLE MEMBERS <3 to pay both artists and rent + bills so we can keep this vibe positive and the portal open!!! And when that is not covered both Jonathan and i pay it out of our own pokets because of the firm belife we have in keeping safe spaces of expression and experimental thought and ART, and mutual respect OPEN. It is REALLY sad some times when we incounter people arguing with us at the door or trying to sneak in to the space wile holding a six pack of beer theyv just bought because they dont "feeeel" like paying to see the artists they love.. Art is precious.. I here alot of talk about sydney music night life and how it is being slaughtered by lock out laws and the corporate cuckold... As an artist myself and some one who previously worked within that night life and saw its progressive decline, THIS is why it is my belief that spaces Like ULTRA where artists, musicians, free thinkers, and people who do not fit or feel at home with in the current restrictive limiting structures of society are free to congregate, create shine and exchange ideas. In this political climat in this time i can think of no better solution for us but to come together to exchange ideas to experiment and to hold our art and ideas sacred and To be unified and supported by each other. To have and give mutual respect and support and encouragement in the prosess THIS is why we have created this place, Because we know YOU are out there. This is our time to come together from were ever you reside near far local or not, this is it. We are the collective. If you have come, reached out to us, made a donation or supported us in any way, We embrace you and welcome you. Thank you for your support. Experimental Music Art and ideas will remain sacred.
