25.01.2022 A huge congratulations to my "human" ambassador Rick Molloy Ultra Tree Felling Services and his fantastic results at the Perth Royal Show in the woodchopping ev...ents wearing his Back on Track back brace supplied by us! Winning the 300mm First Division Standing Block and 275mm First Division Standing Block. Followed by Second in the 4 man relay, second in the 250mm Open Combination and 3rd in the 400mm Double Handed Sawing. So pleased to be apart of Ricks journey and contribute even in a small way! This Back Brace assists Rick not only in the competition ring but also whilst working or at rest, allowing him to warm up, warm down and provide optimal support all at the same time.
25.01.2022 Happy Sunday! No rest for the wicked! Rick Molloy
24.01.2022 The topping of these stunning Sydney Blue Gums was forced due to being planted too close to the family home and the dead limbs that had started to fall from both trees. This resulted in exposing the inner structure of the tree inviting rot and disease. This leads to increased weakening making it difficult for the remaining limbs to stay attached as they grow and get heavier. In a few months these trees will begin to sucker and grow new branches and be at a more reasonable height being so close to the family home. Rick Molloy Meagan Molloy

22.01.2022 An 18m measurement to the first limb of this mighty Redgum! A decent start to our Monday! A man and his Husqvarna 395 and the 3/8 Skip Tooth Super Chisel Chain can achieve anything and everything!
22.01.2022 Thanks Rick Molloy for this fantastic footage. Rarely do we get to see what he sees but thanks to GoPro we have the perfect view. The master at work!
22.01.2022 2 big Lancewood loads carted en route to China! Thursday is where its all happening here in Queensland! Rick Molloy
22.01.2022 Nothing like the red sawdust of the mighty Redgum. Its great being back working with this amazing product. We started working in the redgum over 27 years ago before spending the last 11 years in plantation harvesting, so its been many a moment of déjà vu of late, such as ending the day with a great haul like this. Rick Molloy Meagan Molloy
22.01.2022 Fridays done right! Did you know that a gap in the forest must be available for germinated seeds to receive adequate sunlight in order to grow new red gum trees. Each log is sustainably sourced based on many factors such as only selecting dry, aged timber that has died off, or selecting younger green trees that have had the heads die out in them, which opens up the ground for a younger generation of seed trees. All of the habitat and retainer (seed tree) trees are not touche...d along with young mature growers. If the dry trees are not taken away the younger green trees would eventually die off which would result in a greater decrease in the red gum tree population. Rick Molloy Meagan Molloy
20.01.2022 Tuesday night wisdom.....
20.01.2022 Off to bring warmth to a home near you! Rick Molloy
19.01.2022 Some private work this weekend removing some very dangerous, dead limbs from this tree. Not the most perfect timing due to the stage the tree was at, but a task that desperately needed doing due to safety concerns. A job well done by the team, and the kids can now play safely beneath it!
19.01.2022 Big tree scarf, wedges and wire ropes required to get these mighty River Red Gums down that were leaning back on themselves over a busy road. With a weakening root system and dead limbs caused by disease, the trees were deemed a hazard to road users and pedestrians. Thanks Rick Molloy for these great shots!
19.01.2022 What a mighty tree! We may be in the Tree Felling industry but wouldnt it be a an incredible piece of history to have the chance to see these old beauties still standing!
17.01.2022 This double litre pine tree leaning dangerously over this shed had to be removed as rot had taken over, deeming it even more risky to the humans and animals that use the shed. (It was requested that the fence also be removed).

14.01.2022 These high winds bring great risk of trees falling over and causing damage and possible harm to property, humans and livestock. Here is a Silver Poplar tree that went over in the high winds. The tree was suffering from dry rot and too much water (being on irrigation paddocks) and the roots have rotted away, leaving the tree to fall over at any moment. In this instance the only damage was to a fence and minor damage to the shed. Just lucky the horses werent grazing here at t...he time or that the owner was not going in or out of her shed! Be very aware of your surroundings in these bad weather events. Before and after photos, owner opted to have the branches stacked into a pile for later burning, and the larger pieces cut into firewood and stacked. Rick Molloy Meagan Kelly
13.01.2022 Sustainable Forestry may seem like an oxymoron. How can logging ever be sustainable when, by definition, it requires that trees be cut down? The complete answer is nuanced, but if we had to reduce it to one word, it would be balance. The hallmark of sustainable forestry, from a purely ecological perspective, is the extent to which silvicultural practices mimic natures patterns of disturbance and regeneration. Responsible forestry balance the needs of the environment, w...ildlife, and forest communitiessupporting decent livelihoods while conserving our forests for generations to come. It may seem sad to some that such a beautiful tree be fallen, however when mimicking nature, this old tree is now leaving room for younger trees to grow and flourish in its wake where before, they struggled to grow competing with the needs of this old tree. And just because it is our income, does not mean we fail to ever see the beauty in these giants, hence taking a moment to snap a photo! Rick Molloy

12.01.2022 It was a big team effort taking this deemed dangerous Cyprus tree down, unloading and removing the dangerous broken out head with the use of an excavator. Followed by the expert faller Rick Molloy getting this tree down perfectly. The clean up job was the last stage removing the entire tree completely off of site. Meagan Molloy Melissa Molloy
11.01.2022 These logs were few and far between for a 2 load week! Industry is full of highs and lows! Next week we are aiming higher!
10.01.2022 And down she comes. Two beautiful trees that were unfortunately growing too large over hanging a house and with limbs breaking out and causing further weakness, the decision was made to top these trees.
09.01.2022 The owner of this block had already fallen the smaller trees at the front (the stumps you can see) but needed to call in the specialists to fall the larger boundary trees and over she goes precisely. All yacht and fence damage completely avoided thanks to years of experience and expertise! Rick Molloy Meagan Molloy Melissa Molloy Emily Jade
09.01.2022 Habitat Trees, Seed Trees, Retainer Trees and Green Growers. All a major part in Sustainable Logging, and carefully assessed and marked as a protected tree to ensure the ongoing regeneration of the Eucalyptus Camaldulensis - Red Gum. - Habitat Trees: are mature to old aged trees which provide numerous living places (habitats and micro-habitats) for many kinds of animals and plants. These trees have lots of hollows, cracks and crevices of various sizes, where animals may ...live, breed or shelter. - Seed/Retainer Trees: Trees left after reproduction cutting to provide seeds for natural regeneration in the seed-tree method. These trees serve as both the gene source for the new crop of regeneration and as a source of timber during future cuttings. - Green Growers: These are left and given room to grow, and without this may just die off as they are not strong enough to compete with these larger trees. Rick Molloy
09.01.2022 Red Gum sawdust! A pain for the washing machine, but a necessity to reach some of the most beautiful and unique timber! Red gum burls currently being worked into amazing furniture.

03.01.2022 Ultra Tree Felling is currently away working in the mighty river Redgum country producing firewood for a major mill operation. Rick Molloy is 62 and this big redgum is another foot taller around its girth! Get your firewood from Bunnings? This very tree may be bringing you warmth to your own homes in the near future! Proudly using Husqvarna, always have, always will!
03.01.2022 This week has brought a great paddock with very nice Lancewood logs! Loads going out after very heavy down pours over the weekend! Rick Molloy
03.01.2022 The boss hard at it! Loving the EWPs to reach the top limbs, making life much easier! Rick Molloy
03.01.2022 Rather then keeping our feet on the ground we opted to take an aerial view and top these 2 trees from the top down. These trees were dangerously overhanging both a house and a garage and at the owners request were taken back to approximately 3.6 meters high before they got too large for this edge of town house block. The last pictures are a simple limb removal. This fantastic unit made this job a very safe and easy task, removing a large amount of risk and stress. Sometimes the little extra cost is all the more worth. Rick Molloy Meagan Molloy
02.01.2022 Private work falling this old pine tree to make way for the construction of a granny flat for a lovely couple. A straight easy fall that landed perfectly by Rick Molloy
