Fayen will be giving a talk about writing histories of the Minoan civilisation 1:30pm Benjamin will be performing the essay 1:50pm INDECIPHERABLE (Saturday, October 19, 2019, 1:30pm) Climate change has amplified the prospect of cataclysmic extinction of our human species. How can the successes and failures of attempts to cipher ancient scripts prepare us for post-human readers? This lecture will blunder amidst the undeciphered "Linear A" script of the ancient Minoans, through parallel texts, speculative syntax, sensorial theories of writing, and alien communication theory, to reimagine writing and publishing for a post-human future.
