19.01.2022 COVID-19 ease of restrictions In line with the current eased COVID-19 restrictions in Tasmania, we have made following changes at Ulverstone Veterinary Clinic: Owners can now accompany pets into appointments, one person with each pet.... To avoid large numbers of people being in the waiting room at one time, please call when you arrive in the car park, and we will either ask you to come straight in, or will call you back when ready. You can also come into the clinic to pick up medications and other supplies, with a limit of five people in our clinic reception/waiting room and a limit of three people in our shop. As with all businesses in Tasmania we are still required, where practicable, to maintain a distance of 1.5m between people and at least 4 square metres of space per person. If you prefer not to come into the building, please let us know when you call. Eftpos is still our preferred method of payment, but we can accept cash. Despite the current improved coronavirus situation in Tasmania, if you have signs of cold/flu, please let us know in advance, and we can discuss the best way for us to see your pet or provide medications/supplies.

11.01.2022 We would like to say a very big thank you to our clients, especially this week with the new policies that we have in place. Coronavirus has meant some very big changes for us all, and at the clinic this includes the way we interact with our clients, our staff levels, and how we manage your pets visit and time with us. Your pets care will always be our primary concern. In the current environment this may mean we have to triage our work more extensively, and many of the serv...ices we offer will take a little longer. We may not be able to answer your phone call, answer the intercom at the front door, or return your calls as promptly as we would like, but we are all incredibly grateful for your ongoing support and patience during this challenging time. This is a photo of a beautiful and heartfelt thank you we received yesterday, one of many that has brought a smile to our faces in the past weeks. Through all these changes, the simple acts of kindness that are being seen through the community go a long way.

11.01.2022 UPDATE! Full range of veterinary services available! Following further government advice we are again available for the full range of your animal health care needs. ... We have contacted people whose appointments were postponed over the last two days as we awaited clarification of the recent northwest restrictions; we apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding. We have strong social distancing and hygiene measures in place. However, please consider your own coronavirus risk status and the rapidly changing government movement restrictions before making an appointment/attending. Please call the clinic if you would like to discuss. While government restrictions allow, we continue to recommend vaccinations be given when they are due. In particular, puppy/kitten vaccination courses to 16 weeks old, and the first annual vaccination at ~16 months of age, are still strongly recommended. Also, If you think your pet may need to go into boarding if you are affected by COVID-19, and/or need to self isolate, an up-to-date annual vaccination would be needed. If you need to pick up medications, food or other supplies, it would assist us greatly if you could phone before arriving at the clinic so that we can get it ready. With regards to our shop, UVC Unleashed, you are also very welcome to contact the shop on 64251898 to arrange your food/pet supplies to be ready for you to collect etc. Other than exceptional circumstances, we will no longer be taking payments by cash. Please do not attend the clinic or shop if you have COVID-19, if you or anyone in your household are self isolating, or if you are unwell. In these cases please let us know by phone and we will discuss how we can attend to you animals health needs. Pet grooming, including at UVC Unleashed, is still not permitted for the next two weeks under the current northwest Tasmanian restrictions. We are continuously reviewing all of our coronavirus policies as the situation changes to ensure we are playing our part in efforts to reduce the spread of the novel coronavirus. Thank you all for you patience, stay safe!

09.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE Following the announcement of additional business restrictions to combat the outbreak of COVID-19 associated with two hospitals in Burnie, we have sought advice from the Tasmanian Government as to whether there are any restrictions on which veterinary services can currently be performed. The answer wasnt clear-cut, but the impression given was that non urgent/emergency services should not go ahead for the next two weeks. We were advised that the answer... to this question would be clarified and communicated to vets via the Vet Board of Tasmania. Until we receive clear advice we, at the Ulverstone Vet Clinic, have taken the decision that the most appropriate course of action is to postpone (at least for 2 weeks) services previously defined by the Vet Board as non-critical and non-urgent. This includes adult vaccinations (except where there is a high risk of disease and/or a potential need for emergency boarding), desexing surgeries (except in the case of illness), routine health checks, aesthetic grooming and nail clips. We have contacted all clients with such appointments booked in for tomorrow, to postpone. We will make further calls relating to appointments on subsequent days, during this week. We will review the above policy when we have further communication from the Vet Board of Tasmania and/or Tasmanian Government. Please note: Puppy/kitten vaccination courses to 16 weeks old are still strongly recommended. Also, If you think your pet may need to go into boarding if you are affected by COVID-19, and/or need to self isolate, an up-to-date annual vaccination would be needed. We are still available for all critical and urgent health care needs of your animals, and we have strong social distancing and hygeine policies in place to mitigate the risk of coronavirus transmission. Please phone 6425 2248 to make an appointment before coming to the clinic. If you need to pick up medications, food or other supplies, it would assist us greatly if you could phone before arriving at the clinic so that we can get it ready. With regards to our shop, Unleashed, you are also very welcome to contact the shop on 64251898 to arrange your food/pet supplies to be ready for you to collect etc. We are continuously reviewing all of our coronavirus policies as the situation changes. Thankyou to all our clients, customers and fur friends for your understanding.

06.01.2022 COVID-19 As we all play our part in the national and global effort to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus, there are a number of ways we can work together to ensure excellent ongoing veterinary care for our animals and help to protect our clients and staff. Maintaining high standards of hygiene is an important part of a vet clinic at any time. We have reviewed and altered our protocols in response to the current disease situation, in accordance with regulatory bodies.... If you are currently affected by COVID-19, are under mandatory self-isolation, or are showing symptoms consistent with the disease, please adhere to the government self-isolation regulations. If you are in self-isolation and your pet needs veterinary care or medication, please call us to discuss ways in which we can arrange for your pets needs to be met. Where possible we ask all clients to minimise the number of people attending consultations at this time. We would prefer only one healthy adult to accompany the pet into the clinic or consult room to minimise crowding and close contact. To assist with social distancing, some of our consultations will now be in our separate building (UVC Unleashed). We will let you know when you book or on arrival if this applies to you. If you have health concerns, or are concerned about entering public spaces including the clinic, please call us so we can make special arrangements before your pets appointment. Payment by card is preferred. And lastly, as we all know, the situation, advice and regulation can change rapidly. Please regularly check for updates relating to the coronavirus pandemic, here and at other trusted sources.

05.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE At least until more is known about the coronavirus situation in Burnie and Devonport, we will be introducing the following measures to assist with social distancing while we continue to provide our usual veterinary services: Please phone to make an appointment before bringing your pet to the clinic. ... Once you have made an appointment, one of our vets will phone you prior to your visit to discuss your pets health and the reason for you visit. This will reduce the amount of time you need to be at the clinic. When you arrive at the clinic you can phone from the car park or use the intercom at our front door to let us know you are here. If we are not immediately ready to see your pet, please wait in your vehicle and as soon as your consultation is time is nearing, we will phone you. When it is time for your appointment, you will be asked to pass your pet to us at the front door, you may then wait in your vehicle or at the front of the building while your pet is examined. Please keep in mind social distancing if you are preferring not to wait inside your vehicle. Please also ensure your pet is secured in their carrier or crate if using one. The vet will phone you during their examination of your pet if they need to discuss anything further. When your pets consultation is complete, you will be phoned and we will meet you at our front door with your pet. We will also have any necessary medications ready for you at this time. We have allowed extra time for our consultations to keep waiting times to a minimum. We will be extending our weekday and Saturday opening hours to allow for the additional time our work is likely to take under current circumstances. If you call us or use the intercom on your arrival in the car park, we will bring your medications/supplies to the front door. If you are in a high risk group in relation to the novel coronavirus, and if you are not wanting to leave your house, please call us to discuss how we might get your supplies to you. Payment can be made at the front door of the clinic, there will be EFTPOS facitities available there. Payment by card is much preferred. We ask that only one healthy adult comes to the front door with each pet/for each supplies pick up, and that you maintain a distance of 1.5 metres between yourself and other people. We thank you kindly in advance for being understanding regarding the above changes. We hope that by putting these measures into place we can all do our bit in flattening the curve. Stay safe everyone.
