24.01.2022 Beautiful weather for today’s Northern Branch Centrelink ride. Eight riders took part on the run to Jindera then onto Burrumbuttock turning right to Walla Walla for a short break. From there we rode to Gerogery turning onto Coach Rd which is now completely sealed to Morven. Just before Morven we turned onto the Fellow Hills Rd or as it has often been referred to as The Highway of a Thousand Potholes and rode to Mountain Creek Rd. From there it was a short run South to the Fai...rbairns Rd turn off then onto the Hume Freeway and our lunch stop at the Holbrook Servo Bakery. After lunch we returned to Mountain Creek Rd and rode to Mullengandra and the freeway then made our way home to complete a ride of around 185 klm. At the moment the countryside is a sea of green and gold with wheat and canola every where plus other paddocks full of livestock. See more

22.01.2022 First club run since the lockdown. Over 20 members left the BP servo Lavington in groups of 6 at ten minute intervals and headed to the river road to Jingellic. Beautiful weather with just a little bit of fog at Mt Alfred Gap. As each group arrived at Jingellic the preceding group would leave for Holbrook where we all stopped for a takeaway drink and food. From there members made their way home. Total distance around 215 klm plus.

21.01.2022 Three riders completed possibly one of the last Northern branch Centrelink rides today after the announcement that the border will be reopening at the end of the month , fingers crossed. We completed a circular route of approximately 195 klm from the BP servo to Gerogery then up Coach Rd through Morven to Culcairn for a short stop. From there we continued on to Walbundrie then through the Goombargana area to Balldale then onto the Howlong Bakery for lunch then home. Nice mild weather all the way but the one noticeable thing since our last run through these areas is the drying off of all the paddocks due to harvesting of wheat and canola.

18.01.2022 Great weather for today’s short 180 klm Northern Branch Centrelink ride. 6 started and 5 finished the run to the Holbrook Bakery at the servo. We rode to Jindera then through Walla Walla past Morgan’s lookout then turned right to Culcairn where we stopped for a short break. After the break we rode through Morven then turned left to Cookardinia then right to Holbrook passed the airport. After lunch we returned home via Mountain Creek Rd to Mullengandra then onto the freeway home.

18.01.2022 Beautiful day for our Northern Branch Centrelink ride today . Three members left the BP servo and rode through a foggy Thurgoona to the freeway crossing at Tabletop, from there we continued on back roads to Jindera then up Urana Rd to Burrumbuttock then turned right to Walla Walla. After a short stop we headed North to Walbundrie Rd then onto the Henty Walla Rd to Henty. From Henty we rode past the field day site to Cookardinia then onto Holbrook for lunch then onto Culcairn via Morven to home to complete a 220 round trip.

17.01.2022 Seven Northern branch members completed a 200 klm Centrelink run today. For most of the run through backroads to Tabletop, Jindera , Burrumbuttock, Brocklesby Walbundrie , Balldale and Howlong they were in country that was at times yellow as far as the eye could see due to the abundance of Canola crops. The back country at the moment is a sea of wheat, canola and livestock due to the drought breaking rains we have had lately. We stopped at the Howlong bakery for lunch then completed the ride home via Albury for some and Jindera for the rest. With the weather getting warmer our numbers are growing each Wednesday and Sundays

12.01.2022 Only 4 members turned up at the BP servo for todays Centrelink meeting ( Northern Branch ) with only two taking part on the 165 klm return ride to Howlong Bakery. The ride went through Thurgoona to the freeway crossing at Tabletop then continued to the Olympic Hwy to West Gerogery where we turned onto the Gerogery / Walla Walla Rd. Once at Walla Walla we then rode past Morgan’s lookout then turned left to Walbundrie then over the Billabong Creek bridge to Urana Rd and headed to Burrumbuttock where we turned right and doubled back to Brocklesby. From there it was a straight run to Howlong. Beautiful weather with clear blue skies which highlighted the lush green paddocks everywhere we rode.

12.01.2022 Eleven of Ulysses AW Branch South Boys and Girls would like to advise that we have run out of long straight roads and today, led by Rusty H travelled along the Kiewa Valley Highway then Lindsay Rd to Alan's Flat. we took a secret VIC road to Yackandandah Back Creek Rd. Yakandandah to Mt Beauty Rd across to Gundowring Rd through to Mongens Bridge onto Happy Valley Road to Myrtleford. Great pies at the Bakery. full tums and back to Wodonga via Stanley and Beechworth. Approx 2373 corners and the same amount of smiles.

11.01.2022 Five Northern Branch members started of on today’s Centrelink run but due to rain and the threat of heavier rain in the direction we were heading the run was aborted at Walla Walla and the group headed home to complete a round trip of 75 klm. Still it was better than no run at all.

11.01.2022 Three Northern branch members completed a 175 klm round trip to the Fox and Brew Cafe in Jindera then home today . The day started in fog to the old Mullengandra Pub then cleared up as we rode along Mountain Creek Rd to Holbrook. Then we continued to Cookardinia then onto Morven and turned onto Coach Rd to Gerogery. From there to West Gerogery then to the Walla Walla Jindera Rd then into Jindera. Great run in beautiful weather. We even spotted an Emu near Morven.

09.01.2022 Today’s Northern Branch Centrelink ride was ridden in a true Ulysses way. We traveled 118 klm to go 66 klm from Albury. Three members rode from the BP servo through Thurgoona to the freeway crossing at Tabletop then onto Jindera. We then turned onto Urana Rd and rode through Burrumbuttock then onto Daysdale Rd at the Walbundrie turnoff. We followed Daysdale Rd to the Corowa Rand Rd then rode to the Riverina Hwy just outside our destination at the Corowa Chocolate factory wher...e we stopped for a cuppa and bite to eat. After the stop we headed back to Thurgoona via Howlong to Bungowannah Rd then over the Jindera gap to end a 180 klm ride. The weather was perfect and the only traffic on the back roads was the occasional farmers tractor and a mob of sheep. The countryside at the moment is just a carpet of green with the yellow flowers of canola crops just starting to show. Pleasant days ride. See more

09.01.2022 Wednesday ride. As Bill has wrongly suggested in his current email that we are already in lockdown, we are still able to go for a ride tomorrow. So for the last ride, before lockdown on wednesday 1159 pm, we are going for a ride to Glenrowan bakery, via Yackandandah, Carrols RD. Myrtleford, Milawa, Moyhu, Myhree, Mollyulah, Benalla. Home via service roads from Wang. Departing Blind Freddy at 10 am sharp. All welcome, posted by Ben Brunec.

08.01.2022 One thing that was noticed on today’s Northern branch Centrelink ride is that the roads are getting rougher and the paddocks are getting dryer and more dusty. 6 members including a Southerner completed the 180 klm run today , we road from the Lavington BP servo along the Olympic Way to Gerogery West then onto Walla Walla for a short break. From there we rode to Burrumbuttock then onto Brocklesby turning right towards Walbundrie then left onto Daysdale Rd to the Corowa/ Rand Rd to Balldale. From Balldale we rode on the very narrow Howlong / Balldale Rd dodging a few cars and large trucks on the way to the Howlong Bakery and 1/2 Acre Cafe for lunch. Mild weather for the 180 klm ride but at times very bumpy.

08.01.2022 The Northern branch completed a round trip of 190 klm today. We did a bit of old and new as we rode up to Holbrook on sections of the freeway as well as sections of the old Hume Hwy, zig zagging though Thurgoona, Bowna Rd, Woomargama to finally end up on Jingellic Rd. After a short stop at Holbrook we rode down Mountain Creek Rd to the freeway then proceeded to Gerogery then onto Walla Walla to the Walla food Mill Cafe for lunch. A distance of 152 klm to go 35 klm from Albury. Sounds like a normal Centrelink run. After lunch the group returned to the BP at Lavington to end the ride.

07.01.2022 Only a few turned up for today’s Northern Branch Centrelink meeting due to rain. One member completed 180 klm solo run on back roads after the meeting. With virtually no traffic and only a few showers this ride turned out to be an enjoyable run as well as much needed wet riding practice.

07.01.2022 Completed a short 160 klm ride with 5 Northern branch members for today’s Centrelink / Remembrance Day ride. Rode to Gerogery then along Coach Rd to Morven then onto Cookardinia. From there we continued toward Henty stopping along the way to hold a minutes silence for those who paid the ultimate sacrifice during the great wars. From Henty we rode to Walla Walla then into Jindera for lunch them home to complete the 160 klm run. An enjoyable short ride in mild overcast weather.

07.01.2022 Three members North of the border completed a short but enjoyable Centrelink ride on Wednesday. We left the BP servo at Lavington and rode to Jindera then onto Walla Walla turning right near Morgan’s lookout and headed to Culcairn then through Morven to the Bakery at the Holbrook servo. The roads were slightly damp in spots but the countryside was a carpet of green which was a great to see after the dry spells we have experienced lately. The trip home to complete the 150 klm run was straight down the highway.

04.01.2022 The sun gods looked down on us for today’s Northern Branch Centrelink ride. Five members completed the 210 klm total run to the Corowa Chocolate factory via Rand. Beautiful day riding through Gerogery West, Walla Walla , Walbundrie, Rand then finally to Corowa for lunch for after riding 130 klm. Home was a more direct route through Albury or Jindera.

04.01.2022 Blind Freddy's will be open this Sunday! Anyone from Albury can come over if you have a Permit. (Apply on line). Will be going for a ride to Walwa/Jingellic for anyone interested...

03.01.2022 Northern branch again completed an enjoyable Centrelink ride today. Our thought go out to our Southern members who from midnight won’t be able to leave home to even have coffee. We rode a total of 195 klm from Lavington BP to Jindera via the Olympic Way then through Jindera to Bungowannah Rd then onto Howlong. We continued through Howlong to the Balldale Howlong Rd then rode through Kentucky forest to Balldale or as some call it Testicul Valley over the rail line to Hopefield Rd via Oil tree lagoon. From there we continued to Walbundrie then past Morgan’s lookout to the Culcairn Bakery lunch stop. Home journey was a straight forward run down the Olympic way to the Hume freeway then Old Sydney Rd to Thurgoona. Great run in cool weather but no rain.

03.01.2022 Five members completed today’s 190 klm Northern branch Centrelink ride today. The ride went through Thurgoona to the freeway then onto Jindera. From there we rode along Bungowannah Rd to the Riverina Hwy to Howlong for a short break. From there we backtracked to Kywong / Howlong Rd then through Burrumbuttock to Walla Walla then onto Gerogery where we turned onto the Coach Rd to Morven then finally to the Culcairn Bakery for lunch . The return journey was a more direct 50 klm trip back to Albury. An easy ride in mild condition on the back roads with little traffic and only a mob of sheep to contend with.

02.01.2022 Mount Buffalo Ride.. After Sunday School at Blind Freddy's, 9 riders made it to Dingo Dell cafe.
