13.01.2022 Cassie Steen’s piece ‘COVID-WARMING’ is inspired by the current threat of climate change on planet Earth. As climate change forces animal populations to migrate towards the cooler poles of the Earth, inter-species relations increase, along with the risk of new pathogens, viruses and disease. What can 2020 teach us? Are we able to change our relationship with the Earth as we have to each other? Can Mother Nature’s firestorms and floods be interpreted as her own form of bord...er closure? Division, masking and disconnection - what is the ultimate cost? Or can the global crises of our current world ignite our combative spirit and ultimately lead us to a regained sense of community? 12.01.2022 Dane Reid’s work ‘Saudade’ is inspired by the Portuguese expression of intense melancholy, longing, or nostalgia for something irreplaceable, yet commonly indescribable. Recently there has been an international loss of hope for reunion within social contexts. ‘Saudade’ follows the journey of COVID-19 from a place of oblivious negligence to entrapment within our most comforting residence. This space became smaller and smaller with monotonous and melancholic months of isolatio...n. The unusual release back into reality post-isolation saw a disjointed society that forbid communication through touch. These bitter emotions have been reflected within ‘Saudade’, capturing each moment through rhythmical movements. The piece follows a three part division of past, present and future aspects of isolation, highlighting notions of rage, separation, reunion and disorder. Don’t miss it // ON SCREEN 25.10.20 Link available on our Facebook page on Sunday 25th of October Beautiful Image by Chrissy Maguire

09.01.2022 Suzie Searight’s work ‘The CURRENT’ sheds light on the drastic changes we as humanity have been forced to adopt and practice, altering the way we connect with other bodies in space. Playing with the theme of physical touch and the important role it plays in human interaction, we take a step back and assess how our unique relationships and connections pre COVID-19 and to now have changed and adapted globally in this challenging year. Even though the world around us continues... to distort, we persevere and flow like a current in a definite direction, as if surrounded by a body of water with restricted movement and air. Feeding off of the energy of other organisms and objects that remind us of the human self, we enter survival mode and latch onto anything that comforts us with the idea and hope of normality. Don’t miss it! // ON SCREEN TOMORROW 7:30pm 25.10.20 Dreamy pictures by Chrissy Maguire
