25.01.2022 I was lucky enough to recently come by a large amount of East African Olive wood that a neighbour was removing from their property. Some of has been there for quite a while and I’ve been hanging to turn some ever since I got my hands on it. This bowl is just a small bowl as a test for a larger commission I have coming up. The grain is spectacular and this turns so nicely, like carving through butter and smells like olive leaf extract (surprise surprise!). I can’t wait to ...try some bigger pieces with this. 10.01.2022 Ive been really quiet of late, I’ve started a new job and it’s really taking it out of me so woodwork has been on the back burner. I’ve been working on a few things still, just very slowly. This bowl was made from resin and sheoak nuts. I coloured the resin with smoked paprika and finished it with micro mesh and Yorkshire grit.
