11.01.2022 Please join us in congratulating these amazing and proactive young people, Bella and Zara who are making a difference in the lives of people with dementia in their own Blackburn community! They spent their weekend creating craft gifts and sold them to neighbours in their local street, while at the same time raising dementia awareness. They successfully raised $40 and donated it to the Umbrella Dementia Cafes! On behalf of everyone from the Umbrella family, we'd like to say... a massive THANK YOU Bella and Zara for having the courage to create change and build hope. #changemakers #juniorsocialentrepreneurs

10.01.2022 Today is World Mental Health Day (10 October). As advocates of Dementia both within Australia we are calling on governments to ensure people living with dementia are sufficiently supported. This year’s unprecedented social distancing measures and restrictions due to COVID-19 have had significant and unintended consequences on people living with dementia, their families and carers. The mental health of people living with dementia is being significantly impacted, resulting in a... decline in cognitive functioning and the loss of abilities that many people with dementia will be unable to recover. There is also a subsequent flow-on impact for carers. If you or a loved one needs additional support, please call the National Dementia Helpline 1800 100 500 or visit Dementia Australia website #mentalhealth #agedcareaustralia #dementia #agedcare #alzheimers #endalz #mentalhealthday #dementiacare #dementiacare #dementiaawareness #fightdementia #sandwichgeneration #wellbeing #generationx #generationy #mentalhealthawareness
