19.01.2022 Five important immigration changes in Australia in 2019 The new year brings changes to an ever-shifting Australian immigration system. Language English... By Nikki Alfonso-Gregorio 1 JAN 2019 - 1. Longer processing times for partner visas Marriage Partner visas take longer to process. Because the Family Violence Bill passed in the Senate last November, partner visa sponsorships need to be approved first before applications are lodged. This means that potential offshore applicants and sponsors will have to pass through a stringent process to assess their character and history. This will then prolong the process of obtaining a partner visa. 2. An introduction of a new temporary sponsored parent visa Grandparents Parents of permanent residents and citizens can stay temporarily in Australia for either 3 or 5 years. This year, Australian citizens and permanent residents will be able to bring their parents from overseas to Australia. Only 15,000 visas will be granted each year. Once approved, these parent visas will be valid for three or five years, costing $5,000 and $10,000 respectively. The said visas are renewable, but only up to a maximum of 10 years when combined. 3. An increase in show money for foreign students to more than $20,000 Graduates Evidence of funds will increase in 2019. This year, students have to be able to provide evidence of funds of around $20,290. Bringing in a partner is an additional $7,100 and an additional $3,040 needs to be provided for each child. 4. Matching ATO tax records to salaries of employer-sponsored migrants Tax The Department of Home Affairs and ATO will make sure employer-sponsored migrants are paid what they are due. This year, the Department of Home Affairs will be cracking down on companies underpaying employer-sponsored migrants. \ In partnership with the ATO, the department will be gathering the tax file numbers of those who currently hold a 457/482 TSS visa in order to match them with current tax records to make sure that the said migrants are being paid the right amount based on their nominated salary. 5. South Australia visa for start-up entrepreneurs Business South Australia will pilot a program in 2019 for start-up owners who want to migrate to Australia. The state is set to pilot a new visa for start-up entrepreneurs which isn’t as difficult to obtain as a Business and Innovation visa. The said visa doesn’t require a $200,000 funding arrangement and only a 5 average band score on the IELTS. Applicants are required to provide the state with an original idea and business plan in order to obtain this visa. For more information, visit the Department of Home Affairs website.

15.01.2022 Australia is now making its immigration policy rules tougher. Those who would like to go to regional areas, actually they have to live and provide them the proof of their residency for 3 years. This can be done through either bank details or the payments you will made for your expenditures during the regional stay. It is also applicable for students too.

14.01.2022 PAYMENT METHOD FOR VISA Sometimes we think payment method for visa application does not make an issue as its just simple way of paying through reliable source like debit card, credit card, Bpay or paypal etc. Someone has recently used Bpay method on friday to pay the visa application charge as his substantive visa was expiring on Monday and by applying on friday means he was expecting a bridging visa A (BVA) after lodgement most probably by monday. But it didn't come as the ...payment through Bpay took little long and he got BVC instead with no work rights and no travel rights as a result of delay. There are sometimes very simple and small things that make a big difference in visa application. So everyone please make sure to get it checked with the registered migration agent before pursuing the case.

10.01.2022 Last year, the Canadian government admitting 1 million total immigrants from 2018-2020. The target for next year is 330,000 immigrants, of which about 190,000 will be economic migrants. The remainder will enter under the family reunification category and the refugee, humanitarian and protected category. About one-third of the economic migrants (61,000) will be admitted through the Provincial Nominee Program. This figure excludes Quebec, which will set its numbers separately. ...This way its help rural immigration to shift the settlement in other areas rather than only in big cities like Toronto etc. According to immigration statistics, 34% of economic migrants in 2017 landed in destinations outside Canada’s three most populous provinces, Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia. After immigrants arrive, the key issue for the provinces is retention, since immigrants can leave at any time. The provinces put a strong emphasis on ensuring that economic migrants receive a strong welcome on arrival and are provided with support programs, including education, access to local migrant community networks and assistance finding a job for those who are not sponsored by employers. One of the biggest success stories of the Provincial Nominee Program is thinly populated Manitoba, which has added 130,000 migrants since 1998. Ninety per cent have gotten a job within a year of arriving. This example can be helpful for Australian immigration too. Attracting immigrants to less-populated states is the easy part but difficult thing is retention. Following are some factors can help regional areas to flourish and help people retention in required parts of Australia. 1. Family reunions can be helpful in regional or low growth areas 2. Job ready programs and job availability in a regional areas 3. Government support and promote in opening up a small scale business 4. Allocate more points for those who choose to live in regional or low growth areas etc. Only reducing or limiting the immigration intake cap will have no significant impact in reaching to the solution.
