25.01.2022 ##GOAL UMPIRE ALERT## Ex AFL sensation Tristan Symes will join emerging talent, Tom Sullivan in waving the flags at this weekends 2020 QAFL Grand Final at Yeronga. 167 AFL games, appointments all over the country and even China throughout Tristan’s 12 year career will be on display. Sullivan has verified his appointment with a triumphant home and away and finals series. ... Head QAFL Goal Coach Garry Downes is over the moon with the performance of the pair. The decision to appoint Tristan and Tom to the premier game was made easier with their commitment to being their best. They both had really strong seasons. Our group is in a really healthy position with the likes of Tristan and Tom’s regular contribution. Said Downes. We wish the duo all the best this Saturday.

24.01.2022 ##It’s a Boundary Blitz## Congratulations to AFLQ High Performance Boundary Umpires Ty Duncan, Will Morris, Alex Donoghue and Ryan Hickey on their selection to the 2020 QAFL Senior Grand Final this Saturday at Yeronga. All four have their radars on future AFL selection however concentrating on the immediate job at hand, this weekend. ... An average week for them consists of up to 60kms a week of running and can tick over 20kms in a game inclusive of warm-ups. That would make most anxious, but Ty, Will, Alex and Ryan take it in their stride. Labelled, the workhorses of the umpiring fraternity, this team of four is very deserving of their upcoming assignment. AFLQ HP Boundary Coach Matthew McKenzie is over the moon with the personal commitment all have shown to get themselves into elite condition and will watch on with confidence come Saturday 2:30 pm. We are fortunate to have such great talent in our boundary ranks. It's a pleasing to not only have these four, but more talented umpires we could have selected. A sign of good things to come. 21.01.2022 The Coot-Tha classic is back! Test yourself and take on the route that’s become a staple of pre-season for a number of years. The race is a challenge that has seen many umpires along the years push themselves to their limits and strive towards excellence. An initial meet will be held THIS SATURDAY (21/11) at 6:30, meeting at the below address. This will be followed by the official handicap race on the 12th of December. 08.01.2022 QFA Division 3 Grand Final. Congratulations to the whole panel who brilliantly serviced tonights match between @maroochydoreroosafc and @morningside_panthers at @coorparooseniorafc The Panthers convincingly took out the contest, however the umpires held their heads high and managed the game well until the final bounce. well done all.

06.01.2022 Tonight’s Div 4 Grand Final saw Ormeau claim their first premiership victory in it's clubs history defeating Mt Gravatt. Lachlan Martyr and Andrew Barnes performed superbly throughout. Spectators commented how well the match was officiated and the umpires blended in well. Umpireaflqueensland is wrapped with the result and the whole panel has big futures in umpiring.... Special shout out to the SEQ Community coaches in attendance tonight who received their mugs for outstanding service to umpiring development this year, with special thanks from the Umpires Association and AFLQ.
