24.01.2022 We are super pleased to announce that the bathroom on Level 3 of Union House is now an All Gender Bathroom! Anyone requiring a gender-segregated bathroom can still find women's restrooms on Level 1 and Basement. Men's restrooms can be found on Levels 1, 4 and Basement. People of all genders are welcome to use the bathroom on Level 3.

22.01.2022 OutStanding is Australia’s premier LGBTQIA+ literary event. It’s wholly inclusive, free to enter and there are cash prizes of over $3,000 in total. Young people are eligible for all prizes, plus there is a special Madeline Shaw Youth Prize of $250. The 2021 Competition was launched on Sunday 13 June by Alex Greenwich MP as part of Sydney Pride Festival. The Theme is Ooops! Entries close on 1st September and winners will be announced on 26th September. All details can be found on outstandingstories.net

(TL;DR, protect and love your queer friends) - - - -... - Some stats for y'all: LGBTIQ+ youth are five times as likely to attempt suicide than their peers. 16 per cent of LGBTIQ+ youth have attempted suicide compared to 3.2 per cent of non-LGBTIQ+ youth in the same age bracket. - 48.1 per cent of Transgender and gender diverse people aged 14 to 25 have attempted suicide in their lifetime. - 77.6 per cent of bisexual people aged 18 and over reported having thoughts of suicide in their lifetime. - 60 percent of people with an Intersex variation aged 16 and over have had thoughts of suicide on the basis of issues related to having congenital sex variation. But queer people are strong. We love each other, we care for each other, and we get through it. Together.
