16.01.2022 After a post in my stories, it seems we need to talk about the primordial pouch! The primordial pouch is a loose flap of skin (and small amount of fat) which runs along the length of the belly but is most pronounced towards the rear, just in front of the hind legs. It can often be seen swaying from side to side when the cat moves. IT IS NORMAL You can see in this photo that the primordial pouch even hangs over Sookie’s foot! Why the heck do Cats have this? Well...... 1) To protect their most vulnerable organs in the event of a fight or accident (you may have seen cats use their hind legs to kick each other in the guts ) 2) To enable the cat to stretch out when running at high speed or jumping. 3) To provide a fat reserve (mostly for feral/wild cats.) Many people believe the primordial pouch is due to weight gain, but it’s common on cats of all shapes and sizes. In fact, it isn’t normal to be without it!

Not only do I have my own animals, but all the faces of all the beautiful animals that come through my doors (RIP my phone memory space) how can I resist when they are all faces like these?!

It’s not a grooming one but certainly involves animals The tremendous @edgarsmission have put together this beautiful vegan cookbook with a few contributions from well known Australian Vegans. It’s never been so easy to cook vegan! All the royalties from the sales go to @edgarsmission’s not-for-profit sanctuary. . I’ve contributed (stole from Liam) the famous pancake recipe that you may see us on instagram cooking a lot! Nothing compares to their fluffiness. I’ve blurred the details though so you have to buy the book haha. . Thanks for letting me be a part of the this gorgeous book @edgarsmission

06.01.2022 It’s official, she’s spread her wings and flown to her own nest My best friend, @biankaismailovski, who was living with us for the past few months while in lockdown has left us today. We are so grateful to have had her for the time we did, and so happy for her on this new chapter of her life. She has helped this business out a lot - looking after kids so I could focus on work, proof reading the website and pamphlets, teaching us Xero for the finances and giving her very fashionable opinion on what looks good for new products coming. She also reps the Uncanny Animals t-shirt and merch as if I’m paying for some ambassador role Hopefully customers will see her around more as restrictions ease. Yes, animals are a girl’s best friend... but I also couldn’t live with out my human best friend, Bianka

06.01.2022 Day 528,665 of lockdown ~*{mood}*~ . Haha nah, I’m actually fine. Currently tryin’ to search for the sugar to make some metaphorical lemons into lemonade It’s actually been really overwhelming (in the good way) to have received so much support here since Tuesday evening. I’m shocked actually. My little business has only been running a few months and I have clients reaching out to ask if they could help me with bookings/admin, people with talents and connections offering the...m up to help, groomers banding around me and even people saying they’ve never posted here before but felt compelled to encourage me. I’m weird about receiving help and compliments so I initially wigged-the-heck-out .... but then my heart filled up! Just want to say a huge THANK YOU. You’re all generous and kind and I feel so HUGELY privileged to have this amazing space/community. Gotta love how animals bring people together. . I’m in the process of dusting off my knees and getting back on my feet. Taking a week to just be with the kids then after that I will be back And like proper back. Not John Farnham back where I yo-yo between making come backs and going out of business haha. Love to all xx See more
