24.01.2022 In a few days, we will be pretty much back to normal. Restrictions have been lifted, and we are able to seat to capacity and use proper cutlery/crockery... (Certain housekeeping rules will remain in place, however) We have also been working hard preparing for a return to (some kind of) normal:... We have - scrubbed and deep cleaned every nook & crannie - we bought some new equipment - brand new furniture - brand new wall (coverings) Its looking good & the only thing missing is...

We need PEOPLE to run the business, and for obvious reasons this is proving difficult. Any sharing/ tagging and referring will be greatly appreciated so that we can reach as many people as possible. 13.01.2022 Hi friends.... Please note Uncle Joe's Cafe will be closed on Boxing Day 2020. (And until we can operate with a full team, also continue to close on Mondays, including Monday 28th 2020.)

13.01.2022 So, Monday restrictions are mostly lifted, but one change that is introduced is compulsory sign-in. We will have two options : (a) manual with pen and paper or (b) by scanning a QR code with your smart phone. Option (b) is obviously the safest. You will also be able to access our menu via a QR Code. This prevents possible cross-contamination too.... So now is the time to learn how to do it. A QR Scanner can be downloaded from App Store (iPhone) or Play store (Android) for free. You use it pretty much like your phone camera - simply launch app, point the scree to QR code and click. A QR Code in this case is simply a fancy shortcut way to access a specific Web page without having type an address. You can the sign in on your phone, or you can see out menu on your phone depending on which code you scanned. (Takeaway customers dont have to sign in.) 13.01.2022 Hi folks NSW Gvt has written to us to confirm a recent announcement. It will be COMPULSORY to sign in digitally at all cafes etc.... It is already difficult to persuade the invincibles that Covid rules apply to them, so this will require everyone in line to be even more patient. This is something that isn't going to go away, so to those resisting getting a QR reader to please reconsider. (I am not sure why anyone's record of having visited a public place that is probably captured on 27 CCTV cameras is such a big deal?) We've blanked out private bits, so feel free to share pic to people/groups you think may need to know. Ps. It applies to ALL not just usn we just received the email like all Covid-safe registered businesses would have.

12.01.2022 My uncle told me this... because, you know, EIGBOK. ++++ I know I shouldnt have done this, but I am 83 years old and I was in the McDonalds drive-through this morning and the young lady behind me leaned on her horn and started mouthing something because I was taking too long to place my order. So when I got to the first window I paid for her order along with my own. The cashier must have told her what Id done, because as we moved up she leaned out her window and waved to me and mouthed "Thank you.", obviously embarrassed that I had repaid her rudeness with kindness. When I got to the second window I showed them both receipts and took her food too. Now she has to go back to the end of the queue and start all over again, Dont blow your horn at old people, they have been around a long time.

02.01.2022 Dine In = Sign In Some customers are reluctant to sign in at cafes. It is really not that much different to signing in at a club, but if you are concerned, please note: 1. Its the law. ... AND - we destroy data after 28 days - we sanitise the pen regularly - you are welcome to use your own pen - the sheet is under our direct supervision at the POS, so any irregular activities would be noted. 2. We have a more private option where you can scan in using a QR app on your phone. And finally, there is nothing we can do about it no matter how firmly/ aggressively we are asked to do so. Thanks for understanding.

02.01.2022 Trading Update Our priority is the safety of our staff. Accordingly we have done more work and can announce some changes. Despite our full compliance and strict protocols, the nature of our business is that we are visited by the community members. As such, we felt we had to make further temporary changes for the safety AND peace of mind of all concerned.... So, as before, ceteris paribus, we will see yall soon.
