25.01.2022 John Rumney and Dean Miller previously Undersea Explore and now Great Barrier Reef Legacy are super proud to present our next collaborative research, education and media expedition "Search For Solutions" building on the success of last years expedition "Search for the Super Corals". But we are not alone and so want to thank all of our supporters far and wide for everything they do! We love working with you all, and together we know there are no Barriers too Great to save our Reefs!

15.01.2022 VIDEO UPDATE 10 | LEG 2 "Search for Solutions" Anyone who knows anything about coral reefs will have heard of Dr Charlie Veron. This man has discovered nearly... a quarter of the world's coral species, and been awarded the Darwin Medal for his work on evolution. In this video, we chat with Charlie and Environmental Strategist Josh Gibson about his life's work - compiling and cataloguing a massive online resource of the world's corals. He hopes this project will help inform reef restoration projects by identifying which species of coral are the best ones to repopulate specific sites. Charlie's website is called Corals of the World http://www.coralsoftheworld.org

14.01.2022 Great Barrier Reef Legacy 100% promotes and encourages everyone to either take part or support others in the Global Climate Strike tomorrow. This is an opportun...ity for us to stand and speak as a unified global community that refuses to let the business as usual model continue, to let the in-power minority dictate the fate of OUR planet. In a time when we are losing biodiversity at an alarming rate, when fires are deliberately lit to fuel a relentless hunger for greed, when ice is melting faster than predicted, and when ecosystems are collapsing because environmental conditions have changed so rapidly - we need to act. Around the world tomorrow millions of people will stand by your side to let our so-called leaders and fellow Global Climate Strikers know we are here in number, that together we can effect change through our behaviours and our voices, and that we are not going to stop up until we secure the future we need. So tomorrow encourage your children to walk out of school because it's their future we are toying with, explain to your boss and co-workers why you are striking and urge others to do the same. If you are unsure, ask yourself: Will the race to renewable energy be worse than non-stop burning of fossil fuels? Will protecting the natural places and species we love to see, visit, and watch stop you being happy? Will having clean water and air to breathe be worse than plastics in our oceans and smog in our air? If the answer is no to any of these, then we want the same things. Listen to the science not the opinions. Follow the movement not politics. Stop and think about looking back in 10 years at a world that barely resembles the one you remember when you were a child, with fewer species above and below the water, burning forests across the globe, vanishing ice caps at both the poles, dying reefs affecting billions, and a warming climate that threatens everything we know and love - were you part of the problem, or part of the solution? Join the Global Climate Strike. For more watch https://www.facebook.com/350.org/videos/427395381195077/ From the entire Great Barrier Reef Legacy team.
