We've put up a poll in the Underwood Park runners group asking people for their opinion on which Underwood Park course to use when we restart Nov 28. 15.01.2022 Another parkrun update is at the link below. This one is a bit less optimistic, explaining that there are still some obstacles to overcome before we can re-open. Hope you all can get out there and keep on running! https://blog.parkrun.com//parkrun-australia-covid-19-coro/

15.01.2022 Happy Friday afternoon everyone - it's that time of week where thoughts turn to "What are we doing this weekend". Hopefully parkrun is on your to-do list! If so, we will see you down at Underwood Park at 6:45 for first timers briefing, and 6:55am for main brief. Don't forget to do your covid check in. This can be done before the event here - https://www.parkrun.com/trace/644

14.01.2022 15 days until parkrun restarts! Before we re-start, please have a good look at these two docs - a walker/runner code and a volunteers code. We will provide heaps more information before then about what you can expect, but the short version is - it will feel pretty much the same as before!

13.01.2022 We're finally inching closer to being able to re-start parkrun at underwood Park. The NT has already re-started, and Tasmania and WA will both restart later in October. For Queensland, the official update from last week is: "Queensland Health has increased participant limits this week to 1000. Following extensive consultation with the Sport and Recreation Department we have now formally submitted our COVID-19 Framework to the Chief Health Officer, Dr Jeanette Young." So don't hold your breath, but this is good news!

13.01.2022 We're back!!!!!!!! Overnight parkrun Australia announced that all Queensland events will be re-opening on Saturday November 28, for the first time since March 14. Can't wait to see you all out there running, walking, cheering, volunteering and being pushed around the course. We'll post more later about new regulations, volunteers and more, but for now - rejoice! For the full announcement, see https://blog.parkrun.com//parkrun-australia-covid-19-coro/

11.01.2022 Hi all, It's nearly parkrun day again (I know i can't wait). I'm even more excited that there might be some cloud and showers around to keep the temperature a bit lower. YAY!!! Now is the time to invite your friends along and keep those new years resolutions going. alternatively, consider volunteering for this week or future weeks.... Check out the roster below and comment if you can help out. Cheers Mark (RD)

11.01.2022 edit: we have filled all roles for this week. Plenty of more opportunities to volunteer in future weeks. Only 6 more sleeps til parkrun returns. Exciting stuff. Thank you to everyone who has vollunteered for this week and future weeks also. We couldn't do it without you.... We are still in need of 3 or 4 barcode scanners for this week. If you are a fast runner, you can even run and then pick up your phone and start scanning people in. There are plenty of volunteering options available for future weeks also. Check out the roster below and comment if you are able to help out. See you all saturday.

10.01.2022 Happy Boxing Day everyone! And well done to those who made a start on burning off their Christmas feasting. For event number 173 on 26th December 2020 128 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 11 were first timers and 8 recorded new Personal Bests. The event was made possible by 12 amazing volunteers: Sharon DENLAY Stephen PARKER Bernard DENLAY Ethan DENLAY Asa SMIBERT Alan WALDRON Robyn NOBLE Emily NOBLE Chantelle SLIGHT Atalia SMITH Pauline ROIRI Nicholl HORNE. THANK YOU ALL!!! Today's full results and a complete event history can be found on the Underwood Park parkrun Results Page. https://www.parkrun.com.au/underwood/results/latestresults/ There are a few events nearby doing new year's day, but we're back next on Sat Jan 2nd. Enjoy!

09.01.2022 Volunteers needed! With parkrun re-starting in 9 days, we now need to start recruiting volunteers for the next few weeks. To see what people we need, see this link, or the pic below: https://www.parkrun.com.au/underwoodpark/futureroster/. To offer your services, please comment below, message us on FB or email [email protected]. Before volunteering, please read the summary below of changes to volunteering in the Covid-10 era: 1. Please avoid any unnecessary contact. Al...l volunteer roles are doable without touching other people, and only the Finish Token Sorter should touch any used tokens. 2. Upon arrival, please use the hand sanitiser which will be provided for (only) volunteers 3. All Barcode Scanner and Timer volunteers must use the new parkrun virtual volunteer app on their own phones. We will no longer use stopwatches and barcode scanners. When you are finished scanning or timing, please go to the Run Director who will give you the Underwood Park QR code to scan in the app. This will enable you to upload your data directly to parkrun and receive your volunteer credit. You will also need to scan your own barcode as part of this process. Note this QR code is different to the attendance QR code all participants are asked to use each week. 4. Volunteers may be recruited on the day at the last minute to assist scanning to reduce crowding. In these cases you do not need to add your name to a paper roster. Instead, use your own phone to upload results, and this will automatically give a volunteer credit. 5. A new role Finish Token Sorting will involve collecting, cleaning, drying and sorting all tokens at the end of the event. If this is done during the week, please arrange to deliver the tokens to the Run Director for the following week. Please ensure that you avoid touching your face while doing this, and clean your hands effectively afterwards. Any questions, please ask! We can't wait to get things restarted!

01.01.2022 Only 2 more sleeps now. Who has itchy feet? (I mean who can’t wait. I’m not asking if anyone has Tinea - haha) Seriously though. There are a few important things to do and know if you intend on attending this week. Below is the most important. For a full list, refer to previous posts. 1. Bring your barcode (do you still have it?)... 2. Apply your own hand sanitizer before attending. 3. You will be required to register your attendance for contact tracing using the QR code below. You can scan now or on Saturday (I will have printed codes at the scanners desk). https://images.parkrun.com//Tracing%20Poster%20-%20Underwo 4. Remember to social distance to the best of your ability and no spitting or high fiving. See you soon.
