25.01.2022 Happy international womens day! Like all women we will spend the day getting in and getting it done! We will also take the time to appreciate how far we have come; I was able to drive in my own car I purchased with my own money to my own business. A business built to assist both male and females reach their independence and potential. We still have way to go as a society but I feel empowered everyday to do our part.

25.01.2022 Here is a very good summary for the new Jobkeeper, from the CA community.

20.01.2022 Latest government incentive for business’s to employ younger people (ages 16-35) is called JobMaker. The idea behind the credit is for businesses to have some of the cost of staff to be subsidised. You do have increase your overall staff numbers not just replace existing staff. If you want to know more contact our office on (02) 4589 3490

18.01.2022 Our office will be closed from 21st December 2018. :)

17.01.2022 It has been for some a shocking start to summer, and a stark reminder of the importance of putting something aside in that emergency fund. 3 main financial take aways from recent events. - protect what is important (your lives and your livelihood) - life insurance and income protection is a must for anyone with dependants. And safety is always #1 ... - always carry some cash ($100 is a good start) When power is out cash is king - have a buffer (3months wages) in the bank so you can get to safety/restart/rebuild as even with insurance there is a time lag. Often you pay for emergency accomodation and then reimbursed. Being able to protect & look after yourself leaves the valuable resources to those who need it most. One provider I have had experience with is lifeline; they not only provide financial counselling but are a great resource in times of crisis.

17.01.2022 On international women’s day we give thanks for all those that stood up & made their efforts count. Means our all women’s (non-intentional) team at Unearth Wealth has the opportunity to work, live and grow their skills in an inclusive & safe environment.

17.01.2022 What not to do... Client has come to me aged 47 had an accident at work and has lasting injury which currently prevents him from working. He had no income protection. He did however have default total disability insurance inside his super - so he decided to take out the ‘entire’ balance, and paid $42k in tax for the privilege. He did this to pay out his small mortgage, with over $200k left. He then received compensation payouts from employer & workcover and as he now has too much money in the bank so is not eligible for any government support. If he only took a portion or and income stream from super he would be eligible for some form of government support. Now I’m stuck with what advice I can give him. Moral of the story, Come and see a financial adviser BEFORE you act!!

10.01.2022 Protecting Your Super legislation effective 1st July 2019 - What does this mean ? Why has it come about ? Why is it important to me an my family? As part of t...he response to Royal Commission into the financial sector the Federal Government has instructed all super funds must cancel insurances if your super account is classified as Inactive; so what makes your Super account inactive ? * If you or your employer have not made a contribution into super in last 16 months. This could be for anyone who is on or about to go on maternity leave. Or your employer has been slow at paying your super. (Just because its on your payslip doesnt mean it has gone into the super account) * or your balance is below $6,000. Some people have more than one super account to keep existing insurances or are not actively in the workforce as they have been looking after children, or just moved to Australia so their balance is low. * or you are under 25. For many the default insurances within super is their only form of cover to protect their family due to existing medical concerns or risky occupations. Time to act is now! If you want to keep your insurances (even ones set-up by advisers just paid for by super) you must instruct your super fund you wish to keep your cover. You must opt in! Many super funds have already started to send out these letters. So I strongly urge you to open that snail mail. Another way to keep your account active is to make contribution, it only needs to be $1 and it can keep your account Active. Take back control, and make steps to keep that insurance cover. So you know your family are protected. If you are unsure what this means for you, or not sure how to fix this please call us on 02 4589 3490 https://treasury.gov.au/consultation/c2018-t332527 https://www.moneysmart.gov.au//how/insurance-through-super

09.01.2022 This is 100% true, business throws all sorts of things your way, the only way is to accept change (constantly) as part of.

09.01.2022 One great thing to come out of this royal commission is the increase in peoples awareness of their own financial literacy and looking after their future. Nobody works for free.... So take charge, ask those questions, seek help but protect yourself. I will always encourage clients to question me - helps me know they understand the gravity of the advice and are willing to learn more

09.01.2022 ASIC recently did research to see if consumers knew the difference between General Advice and Personal Financial Advice. Results were 53% of customers could correctly identify general advice, but only 19% could identify personal advice. Thats scary to say the least. Not everyone situation is the same, some people have different ideas of what financial freedom is. Dont just rely on what you hear from a friend of a friend, seek your own information and get informed!

06.01.2022 Good read, outcomes for many of our clients include; - Self funded retirees can continue to stay out of the welfare system to continue to support themselves - Young investors can still accelerate their investments via debt without having added complications - Majority of people have taken the time to educate themselves (ask questions) and take notice of just how government changes in one area (ie.tax) has multiple implications for areas of the economy and investment markets. In my mind it will go down as the tax system election.

02.01.2022 Business as usual for us as modern technology works in our favour. If you are self isolating great time to: - Get info over to the bookkeeper next week is end of BAS quarter. Even if has extension get it out of the way before its due, your bookkeeper will love it! - Think about your own business. What has and hasnt worked over last 12 months ? What steps you going to take to fix it before you are too busy again! ... - Is it time to train yourself in something you have been putting off, like that software you pay for every month.

01.01.2022 Specialist trust can also be great for those with disabilities as they move onto adulthood

01.01.2022 If you have people working for you or with you, there are some tax and super obligations with serious consequences, in case of a breach. So, the ATO guidelines below help the business owners to distinguish the employees from the contractors, to ensure compliance.
