23.01.2022 Today marks World Mental Health Day! This year’s #WorldMentalHealthDay, comes at a time when our daily lives have changed considerably as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The past months have brought many challenges. We know for students it’s been a challenge adapting to taking classes from home and being online, with little contact with teachers, friends and family and feeling anxious about your future. Now more than ever, it’s important to be aware of our mental wellbein...g and how we can take care of ourselves. Mental health is essential to our overall well-being and as important as physical health. When we feel mentally well, we can work productively, enjoy our free time, and contribute actively to our communities. There are a number of resources and support options available to students and we’ve tagged a couple in this post to help make it a little easier to find more information. Some services available to you can be covered by your overseas health cover with Bupa Australia so be sure to check out what your cover entails. When in doubt, reach out and contact us directly. We’re here to support you! University of New England, AU UNE Student Success Advocacy & Welfare Study NSW Lifeline Beyond Blue World Health Organization (WHO)

03.01.2022 The 28th of July means something pretty important to Peruvians - Fiestas Patrias! Today marks Peru's declaration of independence from Spain in 1821 after it was colonized in the 15th century. Celebrations usually begin on the evening of July 27th with folk music played across parks and plazas in Peru. ... Peru is a colourful land of textiles, ancient ruins, and incredible culture. It's also home to a pretty interesting national dish - roasted guinea pig! It's served whole - head and feet included. Many will know Peru from the World Heritage listed, Machu Picchu, believed to have been a royal estate or sacred religious site for Inca leaders. At its peak, the Incan Empire was larger than imperial Rome! The Incas were also the only ancient culture in the world to define constellations of both dark and light. Felices Fiestas Patrias Peru! <3 Have you visited Peru? Tell us about it in the comments below! #PeruIndepedenceDay #CulturalConnection #UNEInternational University of New England, AU UNE Life
