25.01.2022 Our friends at Xero have access to a lot of data about invoicing, and according to a recent study they conducted, more than 40% of invoices are paid late. That's a bit crap! So what can you do about it? Well, start with speeding up your invoice payment terms. Payment terms are often thought to be 30 days, but things are changing, and it's now perfectly acceptable to ask for payment to be made within 7 days. Invoices with short payment terms are still more likely to go past... their due date, but you will still get your money sooner than if you give three or four weeks to pay. Almost to 75% of invoices now ask for payment within 2 weeks, so expectations are changing. What payment terms do you offer? What do you think works best?

25.01.2022 A proposal has been put forward to the government to provide small businesses with up to $5,000 to seek out professional advice from accountants and bookkeepers. Modelling by the Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman suggests that 500,000 small businesses would qualify for the professional advice subsidy, at a cost of $1.5 billion to the government. Small businesses will be the beneficiaries, and we are fully supportive of this idea!... It is only a proposal at this stage, however stay tuned in case it eventuates

21.01.2022 Nadia's sons Liam and Jerome have put up their hands for the 2020 @FrankstonCityCouncil elections, South Ward. Whilst Nadia is incredibly proud of her sons, voting for them did put her in a difficult situation which twin to nominate first, and which to put second?! In the end it came down to a coin toss! Nadia has this to say: ‘In my head, they have already won. They became the youngest candidates to run for Frankston Council. They have challenged the status quo; they have... given young people in the community a voice; and they addressed a difficult issue if you want things to change, change the way you think, change the way you vote.’ She goes on to say: ‘According to Albert Einstein, Frankstonians are insane, because "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." If your small business uses Xero, keep reading friends Earlier this year, Xero delayed a price change in order to help small businesses cope with the impacts of COVID-19.... This delay has now been extended until March 2021, with the price change taking effect on 1 March 2021.
