22.01.2022 I can't believe the treatment we have received from Thomas our site manager who has accused us of tampering with our own washing machine taps. Metricon and Beston plumbing group came out to fix the incorrect labeling of our washing machine taps (hot was cold, cold was hot). Metricon & Beston plumbing are refusing to reimburse us for damaged clothes and will not even supply a letter to say this was labelled incorrectly (even though they came to fix it - go figure??) as they ca...n't prove it wasn't tampered with?? Why would I tamper with my own taps, and shrink my own clothes?? Thomas our site manager & Metricon you are an absolute joke. I would never, ever recommend anybody to build with Metricon after this horrible experience. Thanks Metricon for the shrunken work clothes, and linen and bed sheets we received as house warming presents which are ruined. Great to see you really look after your customers. Love where you live?? Nope, really regret building with you. See more

14.01.2022 Multiply the 1 star for the display homes, thats all they deserve 1 - Terrible Posted on Jul 24, 2011 wishful... Reviews: 1 Pros: display homes and thats all Cons: they are con artists, they trick you to sign the contract and tell you you can raise variations, but forget to tell you they will cost you. shonky and untidy trades people, no communication for months, simply could not get a hold of our CSC Overall: We are in our 2nd year building with metricon, theyre going to cause me to have a nervous breakdown. We should have been in our home last September. I have gone in circles since we signed our contract in Feb 2010. Their displays are beautiful and we are lucky enough to have been able to select the Imperial, although the smaller version 47sq home. We're at for lock up stage excluding garage and we've had nothing but problems right from day one when we paid our initial $1,000 deposit. We should have cancelled back then. We've told them millions of times that what we want is like the display and ask them what are the differences, and be told that our house is only about 50 - 70 cm narrower but infact there more than that. I cant believe how much bad luck we've had with them. Do not sign the contract until you are 100% certain of what is in it and in particular the drawings, they supercede the contract. Our facade is different to the display and theyre telling me, well youre not building the display and, you signed the drawings and contract. We just had downpipes erected and they look like the S bends of the toilet, never ever seen downpipes with curved ends, theyre display doesnt have them like this. Dont take for granted that what is in your drawings is correct, we have a garage door to the house 72cm. I'm only a small person, but to get through that door with shopping I'll have to turn sideways. We're not even getting wardrobes through them because they use standard made cainetry and if your wardrobe length is longer it becomes wasted space. The master robe was 50cm not deep enough, they told me I could have it 65cm then when it came to signing it off they said I cant. I am absolutely over them. I reckon I have aged 10 years over the last 2. I am exhausted and so stressed I just dont know what to do anymore because it error after error after error. The bricklayers started laying brick on the facade of the master bedroom near the windows and that should be in timber, the our site manager tried to tell me it looks better, but I told him I want the same facade as the display. They simply dont get it. Metricon is not recommended by wishful

12.01.2022 google and found this feedback Disappointing 1 - Terrible... Posted on Dec 20, 2011 seanr53 Reviews: 1 Pros: The home designs and inclusions. Cons: Inflexible. Our perception was they were more concerned about the dollars and not about the customer. Overall: We had been in discussions with Metricon about building our new home since April, 2011. After a long process of locking in our tender and scope, we paid the remainder of our deposit on the condition a standard HIA contract was to be used. They deposited our cheque, and we thought, great we are on our way! We only received a copy of the contract drawings and contract price for review 24 hours before the contract signing appointment. To our dismay, when we travelled 100 kms to their office to sign the contract we found that Metricon included a special condition that limits their liability. Basically, if they stuff something up, and it damages any property or person outside of the contract, they exclude responsibility. The Dept. of fair trading advised us this was contrary to the NSW Home Building Act, but we would have to take the matter to a tribunal to fight Metricon if there was a problem down the track. We requested Metricon delete the clause, but they refused. This raised serious questions in regarding their customer service and integrity, as if they will not take responsibility for all their risks, how much care will they provide during the construction and defects liabiliy period? We refused to sign. At least they agreed to repay our deposit (still wating for it though). We suggest any potential buyers consider the contract carefully. Is it worth the risk to you and your family? It wasn't worth it for us.

11.01.2022 November 9 Derek Bernardson Cured! Yes, Metricon has cured me of ever having a new house built. From the moment we signed the contract it was all downhill from there. Rather than write a long list of problems let me mention the last two issues. Currently, where our slab is seen supporting the garage all we see is mud where the concrete ought to be. Despite a persistent rumour that it will be fixed to date it hasnt, and we moved in a year ago.... Then there is the matter of our water leak. The Metricon plumber evidently did not connect a pipe properly, and the result was my wife, and I, were using 1,400 litres per DAY! Yet not a damp spot could be seen. On the advice of the water company we hired a plumber who specialises in leak detection. To be fair to Metricon after repeated e-mails they did fix the leak quickly, but have they paid for the specialist plumber yet? No. Stonewalling was not part of our contract, but that is what we get. Too hard to handle problems are just repeatedly ignored. Yet if you owe them sixpence for a nano-second then the threatening letters are pumped out promptly and efficiently. So, why can they not just pay us instead of behaving as if they desperately needed every dollar? To my mind it is not being treated terribly after signing, it is not even getting thing you never wanted (our fault, we ought to have scrutinised every sentence, every clause, every product number and code) it is the sheer unrelenting stress of dealing with Metricon. This year I have been hospitalised three times, twice to ICU, and most of it I put down to the Metricon Experience. The adage is true buyer beware! Derek Bernardson, Cranbourne
