19.01.2022 As of 1st July, the #NDIS will be releasing a new line-item for Psychosocial Recovery Coaching. This interesting new support is something we have received interest for from our clients and their respective stakeholders. We have gathered a team in preparation for providing this specific support. We are currently gathering expressions of interest for you or your clients. If you're interested, please email [email protected]. Alternatively, you can visit our w...ebsite to register or submit an enquiry. Read below for a more comprehensive outline of the new line item What is this new line item? The new Psychosocial Recovery Coaching service is a way for individuals to receive support in multiple domains of their everyday life and areas of functioning. This is not manifested in a single way - after all, all individuals are unique, and their presentations and needs vary. For instance, for one person, this may mean re-enabling them to access work after severe trauma, for another, it may be assisting them to develop a personal hygiene routine. How is it different to a classic support worker? Ideally, this service adds another layer or two to the role of a support worker. with the #psychosocial recovery approach, individuals should be trained in a common area of mental health, counselling and psychology known as the '#biopsychosocial model' of overall functioning. It goes beyond providing support, but also coming up with strategies, working closely with a larger care team and mentoring individuals to tackle their challenges and hurdles. How are we preparing for this service? At Unify, we have gathered a team of individuals who have a history of mental health, allied health, disability and life-skill training education and experience mentor coach individuals seeking this service. Questions? It's a new item, so there's bound to be loads of questions. That's okay, just email us, comment below, send us a message or submit an enquiry on our website, and one of our clinicians can assist.
