25.01.2022 Thanks to our local Federal MPs for signing the #FundUniFairly pledge today out UOW. Acting NTEU Branch Pres. Rodney Vickers joined @StephenJonesMP and @SharonBirdMP as they spoke to local media and lent their support and parliamentary votes to UOW staff and students.

25.01.2022 Over the past few years, NTEU has recovered millions in stolen wages for members across the university sector. But we know that underpayments are endemic and there is more to recover. If you're a casual at UOW who believes you've been underpaid, fill out our survey herehttps://www.surveymonkey.com/r/37RQJVT If you are not a casual university staff member but believe you have been underpaid, email: [email protected].

23.01.2022 Many UOW staff drop by Officeworks each week. Don’t shop there tomorrow while workers strike. Despite huge profit increases during COVID, the management are failing to offer a fair pay increase and more secure jobs to the workers. Familiar story?? No crossing picket lines in our #Uniontown

23.01.2022 #FundHigherEd our future is worth it.

21.01.2022 Worth a read. Then next step, some action across the sector to win some change.

21.01.2022 Get the lowdown from our National President, then get your submissions in.

19.01.2022 We should all be proud of these fantastic UoW Colleagues who have volunteered their time and skills to produce this powerful piece. Please share with colleagues, contact a cross bench Senator today and help block the terrible bill. #FundUniFairly #BlockTheBill

16.01.2022 Your union Branch President along with other local NTEU union reps will meet with our new VC on Thursday. We are looking forward to this first meeting, where some key workplace issues will be raised. We will report back to all NTEU members soon after Thursday.

16.01.2022 Join UOW colleagues tomorrow, Wed 18 Nov. 12:30pm on the McKinnon Lawn, Wollongong Campus. Members have developed an alternate cost cutting plan linked to UOW Executive Staff salaries, instead of more staff job losses. Be there, support the effort and find out more! Plus share the new hashtag #EveryoneUOW Below you can catch some of our initial public reaction to the Vice Chancellors One-UOW plan. More to come...

13.01.2022 An important win, won by union members at Uni of Newcastle. You can read the FWC decision here...

11.01.2022 Join us on Thursday, 12:30pm, Duckpond Lawn. Get a free union sandwich!

10.01.2022 Thanks Jacqui Lambie!! Now we just need one more Federal Senator to vote and block uni fee hikes and funding cuts! #BlockTheBill Tell the Centre Alliance Senator, Stirling Griff to bin this unfixable bill - Ph: (08) 8212 1409 Email: [email protected]

09.01.2022 From our National NTEU President. More to come on the Fed Govt. planned changes to the Fair Work Act. Don't believe the Government curated headlines, this is potentially a cut to Casual staff rights at work.

09.01.2022 Is this a fair wage for anyone....?? Um... no. #EveryoneUOW

09.01.2022 UOW Staff have a better savings proposal.

08.01.2022 Great union members in BUG at UOW have been doing some more analysis on our University budgets. They’ve found a fair bit behind the couch allocated to ‘other expenses...’ https://archive.org/details/every-one-uow-making-cuts

08.01.2022 In the debate about the future of our public universities this is a vitally important contribution from our colleagues at UOW.

06.01.2022 Staff members on UOW Academic Senate won a key victory today. They won a path back to a more democratic and representative Senate. Together, UOW Staff can win a better University!

05.01.2022 Encouraging message from one the key deciding votes in the Federal Senate. Still to hear from Jaqui Lambie and a couple of others. It is in the balance #stopthefeehikes Say no to #higheredcuts

04.01.2022 We’re only getting started...

04.01.2022 Solidarity with our colleagues at UTS. The Federal Government is still MIA...

01.01.2022 Another important addition to the conversation around the future of our universities.

01.01.2022 The climate emergency isn’t going away, it will only get more urgent. Atmospheric physics won’t wait for those in power to act. So we must remove those remaining in power who refuse to act.

01.01.2022 Some statistics to makes us all think a bit, and then act.
