16.01.2022 We hope you are all well and managing through all the challenges we are facing in this current time. Due to the current lockdown in Victoria, the clinic will continue to be providing only Telehealth (video conferencing/phone consultations) sessions until stage 3 restrictions are lifted (this excludes face-to-face assessment components such as cognitive assessments and behavioural assessments). Please note that if you are attending the clinic for a cognitive or behavioural ass...essment, it is a requirement that you and any family that are present are wearing a mask. All staff at the clinic will be wearing masks or face shields for any necessary face-to-face appointments. All family members will have their temperature checked to ensure that they are not running a fever. If your temperature is over 38C then you will be asked to leave the clinic and your appointment will be rescheduled. We request that family members do not wait in the clinic reception for their child during any assessment components and they wait in the car instead. We are abiding by the Government's advice and will be led by their movements. We understand that this may be good news for some families and not for others, and we are sorry to the families who are keen to be back in the clinic. We will be in contact with all clients one week before we begin offering face to face sessions. Kind Regards, Danuta

14.01.2022 Masks are now mandatory but there are some exemptions. Amaze is continuing to work with DHHS and Victoria Police to get clarity on how exemptions will work, and will provide updates when they have further information - as always this will only be after they verify it with the relevant authorities. They’ve put together an article which contains information from the Victorian government; a social story on how to wear and safely remove a mask; and other tips for autistic people and their families.

05.01.2022 Tune in here to listen to Danuta's recent podcast interview with Sue Larkey on the topic of girls on the spectrum at school. It was a delight to chat with Sue, thank you! https://suelarkey.com.au/episode-84-danuta-girls/

04.01.2022 We get a lot of questions about funding offered by NDIS and how to successfully apply for NDIS funding. Please see these NDIS workshops being ran by AMAZE for more details.

01.01.2022 At Unique U Psychology we provide specialist diagnostic assessment of girls and women with Autism Spectrum Conditions, which in females presents differently from males. Please feel free to watch Danuta's interview on ABC's Lateline discussing why females are often missed in the diagnostic process. If you require a diagnostic assessment for yourself or your child please feel free to contact the clinic on 0414 014 985 or [email protected].

01.01.2022 Sue Larkey is a highly qualified educator who has taught students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in the mainstream and special schools. She has her own podcast sharing her wealth of knowledge and experiences with working alongside children with Autism.
