23.01.2022 SMOOTH EDGES The stone rolls back and forward In the waters of the mind Rolling, tossing, turning... Smoothing the exterior The edges continue to soften Slowly they toss back and forth How the slowing and the quickening of the tongue Also smooth out the rough edges How sharp are your edges? How smooth do you want to be? Spend more time in the waters of your mind Allow the stone to toss back and forth Caught sometimes in rips and sand Tossed strong enough in the current The edges are sand papered away She watches the waves roll over and over again And the pain is strong And the edges are smooth
21.01.2022 UNIQUE WORD MONDAY'S #10 It has been Spring in Melbourne for a week now. Spring is my favourite season for all the new life and fresh starts. I also love the rain Spring brings. You could call me a PLUVIOPHILE. The word PLUVIOPHILE comes from the Latin word pluvial, which means rain, and phile, which denotes a thing or a person. Therefore, a pluviophile is a lover of rain, or someone that finds joy and peace of mind during the rainy days.... A PLUVIOPHILE loves the pitter-patter sound that rain makes agains their bedroom window. They enjoy the outdoors regardless of the weather and will draw open their curtains to watch the spectale of a thunderstorm late at night. They will breathe in the sweet smell of rain in the morning and will find joy and happiness on rainy days. See if you agree with the below statements to see if you have some PLUVIOPHILE traits: 1. You find comfort in the rain. 2. You enjoy being outside. 3. You want to bottle up that after rain scent. 4. You love the darkness of the sky. 5. You love looking at the weather through a window. 6. You don’t mind getting soaked in the rain. 7. You could listen to the sound of rain all day. Listening to rain sounds is similar to listening to white noise and can help you clear your mind, relax and focus. If you're interested in relaxing to the sound of rain, here are two sound clips I found for you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubNfkpbxXUs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8GrqUSdzi0 Wishing you a wonderful week.
