21.01.2022 Hello, I am Sister Bernadene Green. I was part of the 1907 founding group to travel to Beagle Bay Mission at the request of Bishop Matthew Gibney. I served as a Superior from 1913 and died in 1923. I was one of five sisters from the Greene family, who entered religious life with the SSJG, all of whom came to the Kimberley. You will find my story at the SSJG Heritage Centre in Broome. They have an amazing social history display in the Old Convent on the cnr Barker and Weld Sts, Broome

21.01.2022 Would you travel 5000kms to housesit in paradise? Our friend Liz Cochrane did. She travelled from Melbourne to Broome in her Toyota Coaster motor home by herself, taking 10 days and 5,000 kms and she was about to celebrate her 70th birthday. Amazing woman. Of course this was before COVID19. Though especially now when we are probably going to be travelling more within Australia it makes you think that as a single female you too can do it. 21.01.2022 Red apparently is not a warning but a good sign. The fruit on this tree is a much prized resource. It is called JOONGOON. 100g contains - 46.63g moisture, 2.35g protein 1g of ash, no fat, 49.03gm carbohydrates, 161.78mg calcium, 402.25mg potassium, 229.21mg sodium, 1.49mg ascorbic acid. You would only need to eat a little of this fruit to give you a boost. Walk through the bush on Bundys Tours at Kooljaman Cape Leveque gives you an insight into what we walk passed and what could save our lives in the bush.

21.01.2022 Staircase to the Moon (in JULY) only happens 3 nights each month from March to October when the Moon is full and the tides are high. So if you are lucky enough to be in Broome at this time it really is a most moving sight. The night will be really black and you will be so surprised when on the horizon you see the slither of gold rising out of nowhere. Once the moon is just risen you will see the beginning of the staircase on the mudflats that really do create an illusion that you could walk right up to the moon. Best viewing is along Roebuck Bay at Town Beach, or the Mangrove Hotel. Heres the dates for JULY. 6 July Mon moon rising 6.33pm Markets 7 July Tue moon rising 7.30pm 8 July Wed moon rising 8.24pm

A quiet space filled with peace and stillness. The 3 metre tall crystal Buddha is surrounded by crystals and is the perfect place to sit and meditate or just enjoy the beautiful garden. Zoe is the keeper of the Buddha so you may see her tending to the garden, stop and have a chat. There are yoga classes that happen everyday and it is such a magic place to do your yoga practice. We do not take time to just sit and this is the perfect place just to reflect and enjoy the surrounds. The Buddha Sanctuary is open 7 days a week from 7am. 01.01.2022 Nothing like a mini holiday to refreshen the batteries and soothe the soul. 2 days Kooljaman at Cape Leveque was just perfect. Swimming, walking, sitting by the campfire, watching the sunset, snoozing in the afternoon. Staying in my favourite beach shelter where I can almost touch the ocean. Spending quiet time with my friend Liz (yes 2 Lizs), watching the Staircase to the Moon and the sunset at the western beach. Heaven.
