21.01.2022 The current COVID-19 outbreak in Victoria is concerning and measures are being taken to protect South Australians from the increased risk caused as a result of ...this situation. Our Chief Public Health Officer, Professor Nicola Spurrier, answers a number of questions South Australians may have.

21.01.2022 Well thats a relief! Repost @abcadelaide Ig The South Australian Government has announced Adelaide's @christmaspageant will go ahead on Saturday, November 14 at Adelaide Oval. For the first time in history the Christmas Pageant will be a twilight event for Adelaide families.... It will have up to 25,000 people, depending on the venue's negotiations with SA Health, rather than the 300,000 people who normally attend the daytime event as it parades along major CBD roads. Premier Steven Marshall said the pageant going ahead would bring "lots of relief from right across South Australia". "It's going to be different from other years but it is going to go ahead," he said. "The good news is at the end of the parade we are going to have a very special guest that will be joining us in South Australia and that is Father Christmas." Attendees will be chosen by ballot and the pageant will be broadcast live on TV. For the latest news on the COVID-19 pandemic read our live blog. "We have had an agreement with SA Health to go up to 25,000 [attendees], but of course we're still a long, long way from November 14," Mr Marshall said. 13.01.2022 Looking to the future Repost @communitycentressa Ig How has your family's life been affected as a result of COVID-19?... Australian Institute of Family Studies (AIFS) is surveying people 18+ to find out how they are adjusting, and if they’re getting the supports they need. https://aifs.gov.au/fia-survey-landing The survey will take 20 to 25 minutes to complete, although it may take a little less or more than this depending on circumstances. The survey will remain open until mid-December. As a sweetener, you will have an opportunity to opt into a random draw for one of five $500 shopping vouchers, provided by AIFS.

12.01.2022 An unusual summer is on its way Repost @sahealth_ Ig If you are in self-quarantine or self-isolation due to COVID-19, you can leave your home if you are in an emergency or your home is unsafe. You should try to get back into self-isolation as soon as you safely can.... During an emergency, if you need to attend an emergency relief centre or a Bushfire Last Resort Refuge, you need to stay outside, alert emergency services (e.g. SAPOL, relief authorities at the location etc.) and follow instructions. You must also advise emergency services that you have been forced to leave self-quarantine or self-isolation due to the emergency and that: you are a close contact of a known COVID-19 case you have recently tested positive to COVID-19 or if you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or you are in self-quarantine because you have recently returned from interstate. Review your Bushfire Survival Plan and consider adding additional face masks, hand sanitiser, and antibacterial wipes to your ‘Emergency Kit’ to protect yourself and your loved ones from COVID-19. Follow the @sa_countryfireservice for emergency warnings and further advice. See more

11.01.2022 Another wonderful health worker! Repost @sahealth_ Ig SHOUT OUT ... We would like to acknowledge the fantastic Amy D who is the Cystic Fibrosis Nurse Consultant at the Women's and Children's Hospital. Our 11 year old has both Cystic Fibrosis and Hydrocepahlus and spends a lot of time at the WCH every year attending clinics as well as for admissions when things go bad. For all our CF issues, Amy is our initial port of call and always gladly helps in answering our needs via phone, email or in person. She has built up a wonderful relationship with Josh who she has known for eight years. Even when Josh goes in for neurosurgery and is in the Kate Hill Ward, Amy always drops by to see how he is and if he needs anything. She is a wonderful and caring member of the WCH Team. See more

10.01.2022 And were delighted to support @salafestival ! Repost @tomborgas Ig I am delighted to announce that Ive been awarded the @unitcareservices Digital Media Award as part of @salafestival 2020 for the ongoing body of work, Hyperobject (Speculative Works). -... Somewhere between a set of proposals and a speculation on the physical implications of digital infrastructure, these precarious virtual eruptions are modeled in 3D and collaged onto objects, architecture and people using image editing software. - As a collection of propositions, these works have already served as the impetus for a number of developments and IRL sculptural works including two commissions for architectural scale pieces, a black-box hybrid theatre/dance/exhibition work for the @adelaidefescent and a series or workshops at @st_peters_college_adelaide. - A huge thanks to @unitcareservices for their support through this award and to everyone at @salafestival for another awesome program of events both on and offline. - Image: Grenfell Street Armature (Hyperobject) 2020 Digital colllage (3D render and photograph) See more

01.01.2022 There has to be a better way forward Repost @adelaidess4c Ig THIS IS WHY we, the students are taking action on September 24th & 25th!... WE NEED YOU TO JOIN US - Bring your Friends, Parents, Grandparents. Everyone is welcome! Australian communities have been hit hard by the dual bushfire and coronavirus crises. We have an opportunity to build the future we can all thrive in by creating clean jobs that care for country, climate and our communities. Instead the Federal Government and the Covid-19 Commission are secretly making plans to give billions of dollars in handouts to their mates in the gas industry that will turbocharge the climate crisis and threaten First Nations lands. All you need to do is make the message clear Fund Our Future Not Gas, it could be a banner, selfie, or get creative! Wear yellow on the day, get some great photos and send them to SS4C. Actions will be in line with Covid-19 restrictions by state/territory. #FundOurFutureNotGas
