Our wonderful friends at @danceexplosionau have now introduced 'all abilities' dance classes, which are currently available to participate in online. Please share this with anyone you know that might be interested! Miss Wendy is the most wonderful teacher, and instantly makes you feel warmly welcomed. These dedicated classes are a great way to improve movement skills, strength and coordination, and they also have huge adv...antages for mental health... which is always so important, but particularly more so at the moment. These classes are available for both self or plan-managed children and adults with disabilities or chronic pain. 16.01.2022 We've been overwhelmed by how many of you have contacted us this week, to ask if our classes have started again. It's been lovely to hear from you! Yes, as you've probably read in the news... dance classes are now allowed to operate in Victoria. However, because our classes are run in the community centre, we now need to wait to get the all-clear from the Saltwater team before we can resume any programs in the centre. As soon as we have any good news to share... believe us... you'll know about it!! 05.01.2022 Opening to the second page of this book was such a special moment for me. But all the pages that followed were even more special! This incredible author @tanyabirdauthor wandered in to my adult contemporary dance class about 2 years ago, and immediately (well, for me anyway) it felt like she had just been a part of our dancing family forever. Tanya would tell us bits and pieces about her work, although never really giving too much away. She casually dropped me a message ear...lier this year, and mentioned that the heroine in her next book was going to be a ballet dancer. (You can imagine my reaction.) And then, about a month ago, this book landed at my front door. In a way, it was a strangely perfect time to read about an ex-ballerina who has to step away from her professional career. Feels so relatable at this given moment. Other dancers will understand. Sure, we can do a "normal life" it we have to. But it's like you just can't shake the feeling that a part of you is missing. Its unexplainable. If you know... you know. I have such huge levels of admiration for Tanya, and everything she has accomplished in our dance classes over the past two years, but now I have even more admiration for her after reading this book (twice now, might I mention). Tan, your writing made me feel the full smorgasboard of emotions. One minute I was smiling so hard my cheeks hurt, and then the next, the tears started rolling. I am in awe of you. So, if you love a good read and a gentle tug of the old "hopeless romantic" heartstrings please support one of our Point Cook locals, and get a copy of Breathing Water into your hands. Your only regret will be that Ella got into the line at the coffee shop infront of Dax before you did.
