25.01.2022 The mail delivery to surrounding areas was based at the store. It was 109km long over a mix of sealed and unsealed roads. As well as the post, bread, papers and groceries were delivered. In ‘82,’83 we had an XC Ford Fairmont wagon. (Excuse the beach background) as the delivery vehicle.

13.01.2022 In the '80s the bread, pies and sausage rolls all came from Kilcoy Bakery. Delivered to the door by the boss himself who just loved to get out and about after an allnighter of baking. Those big sausage rolls were irresistible.

04.01.2022 Some years ago... It was about mid morning, mid week in 1983. Mr Howard pulled up at the bowsers and instructed Gary to 'fill er up'. It was a brand new Toyota ute. He'd just been down to Toogoolawah and picked it up. "I can't Mr Howard" I replied.... "Why not" enquired Mr Howard. "It's diesel and Colinton doesn't have diesel". "Right O, bye then" said Mr Howard. Later that day Mr Howard once again drove up to the bowsers and asked Gary to 'fill er up'. Now Mr Howard was getting on a bit and Gary thought that it was a bit of the old memory lapse creeping in. "I can't Mr Howard, we don't sell diesel".
