At some stage you will need to increase your speed, power, aim, poise, focus and stamina to win the battles. To do this you will need to go to... the gym and train in the 6 inhouse mini-games. Just remember that you only have so much energy and will need to buy and eat healthy food to restore your energy. Then you can continue to train to become stronger. At some stage you will run out of money gold to make food purchases. This is where you go to the games; Chopsticks, Balance, Breaking, Blocking and Aiming. Here you will have external challenges and you will receive ‘Gold throughout the game. Once a game is over you can register your score, return to the shop, buy some food, eat some food, increase your gym training and return to the map to try and beat the dark warriors. See more

Although a lot of people initially had reservations about entering a tournament (e.g. contact and injuries) their mindsets were changed by great attendance and great atmosphere. 21.01.2022 I will never pass down an opportunity to share my passion in life, besides the love for my family, I can't thank Australian Taekwondo, enough for reinforcing, through my words, the need to build unity in our school system. (Click on link or photo below for the full interview) As parents we want to see our children enjoy going to school, build lasting friendships and develop the confidence to be successful in ALL areas of life, but currently, our children are spending too much... time trying to avoid confrontation, leaving less time for learning. Statistically: UN agency ranks Australia 39 out of 41 countries for quality education as our students are falling behind in basic measures of teaching and learning. We need to "Build People Not Fighters". We need to encourage our future leaders to want to contribute back to society in a meaningful way and understand that a little kindness goes a long to build friendships that last the test of time. What a wonderful place that would be!

20.01.2022 Here is an update from the previously posted Australian Taekwondo Web Story about the difference taekwondo can make when implemented into the school system. The way the program works The instructor / coach runs an inspirational lesson which places the children into a state of listening and learning. Then sit them down and share a Master Paul story. I have put together 10 lesson plans with a new story each lesson. They get so excited to hear a life changing story that really h...appened. You then give them the opportunity to help another person and see the difference they can make. At a local Sydney School I ran a 8 week program and at the end we saw a 70% reduction in bullying. The comment from the deputy principal at the time "Bullying is at a manageable level". Just loved hearing those words. Currently there are 45 million recorded bullying incidents in Australia each year. This analysis has identified that the costs associated with bullying total an estimated $2.3 billion, incurred while the children are in school and for 20 years after school completion, for each individual school year group.The estimated costs are experienced by individuals, families and communities and can be broken into two components: 1. By the time each student cohort has completed its schooling years (generally this is 13 years), victims of bullying, perpetrators, their families, schools and the community will have experienced an estimated $525 million in costs associated with bullying. 2. After school completion, the consequences of bullying continue and are estimated to cost $1.8 billion for each single cohort of students over a period of 20 years.This is driven by impacts to productivity, chronic health issues, and impacts on family and the community from continued bullying behaviour that can extend to violence. So how do you protect your child? After all, you cannot be there and nor should youevery moment of the day. How do you support your child and offer them a peaceful solution to a better life? Imagine if you could send your child to school secure in the knowledge that they will receive a great education, meet new friends, and develop the confidence to be successful in all areas of life. Now would not that be refreshing! The inner strength to achieve those ideals does not only come from martial arts many children have it already. But what of the children who do not? I believe that we need Taekwondo Kickstarters Program in all Public Schools throughout Australia and overtime the difference will filter into our high schools, universities and workplace. Children are encouraged and inspired to give back to community in a meaningful way. Now wouldn't that be a wonderful world to live in. NOTE: I will never stop looking for a solution.

17.01.2022 Check this out. One of my students fathers from Greenacre Hall gave me an origami gift of a swan. His grandson's confidence had improved so much that bullying at school has been minimised as he has the confidence to stand up for himslef. He is only 6 years of age and has achieved the level of 9th Kup (White Belt/Yellow Tip). I could not thank him enough and I told him about my instructor and said in a joking fashion, can you make a harley. He said "no problem'.... It took him 9 days and about 4,000 folded pieces of paper. I sent it to my instructor and he is stoked and I am very happy. Note: Wheels actually roll and the steering turns

Moo has been vaccinated, desexed and microchipped.... Moo is a hard-working dog breed with excellent stamina, plenty of self-discipline and is extremely intelligent that lends itself to easy training. Moo is friendly and gentle with strangers and will get along extremely well with children The only problem is that Moo has high energy levels and therefore high needs for exercise. 16.01.2022 My name is Master Paul Mitchell and I am the Founder and Master Instructor of United Taekwondo. My organisation focuses on building people not fighters Recently, I was asked to support Young Spirit Mentoring Program (YSMP) in my local area. This is a program that gives underprivileged children and teens a brighter future by providing them with transport to the venue, breakfast and training. Currently, children as young as 12 are getting pregnant, drugs like Crystal meth and a...lcohol is readily available and there is violence in the home. Children sometimes go to school and normally don’t receive breakfast, lunch or a healthy meal for dinner. Something needed to be done! Three days per week the YSMP staff go out in their own cars, pick up these children and teens so that they can start physical training at 6.00am. Once they have finished training they have breakfast provided and get taken to school. The program has been running for over 16 years and Uncle Dave (Organiser) asked me to join with him and to share my experience and expertise in building self-confidence through martial arts training. So every Tuesday my wife and daughter prepare meals and on Wednesday morning I train the students in taekwondo, feed them breakfast and provide a healthy lunch to take to school. Last week I gave the children with their own taekwondo uniform. It was great to see the expression on their faces when I said "it is yours to take home". Their excitement brought me to tears. It was as if this was the first time they had received something of true value. One student asked me how much it will cost for training. I said You will pay nothing for your uniform, training, grading, membership and insurance, all I ask for is for you to give me your best and to always show respect for your fellow members. I believe that there is no greater gift in life than giving the gift of confidence and with your generous donations we can expand the program and make a larger impact in our community. The money raised will assist my wife in purchasing food for breakfast and lunch as it is costing about $150/week at the moment. If we receive a little more we will provide them with a printed hoody, so that they can spread the word about the YSMP and United Taekwondo program. The program will be not only teach them to defend themselves, but more importantly, they will become good role models with the capacity to respect and contribute to society in a meaningful way. 08.01.2022 Tournament Results: Congratulations to all everyone that supported United Taekwondo at Australian Martial Arts Championships the other day. The team kicked off well with Kynan taking out second in Junior Forms followed by Myles fighting hard to hold onto 4th place in sparring. Well done to Tara who also gave it her best, but hard competition saw her receive a participation certificate this time, but the look on her face told me she will be back.... Onto the big boys Branch Instructor John was on fire and took out both State Titles in Veterans Point and Continuous Sparring. Gary was inspired by John’s accomplishments that he himself took out 2nd Place in point followed by a State Title in Continuous Sparring. Well what can we say about Nick. Here is someone that never gives up and in his final round to become State Champion in Contact Point Sparring Nick had to settle for 2nd Place. Let me tell you they better watch out at the Nationals because even after being knocked to the ground with an illegal technique, receiving medical assistance, the first thing he did when he got back on his feet was to go over to his opponent and let him know that there is no hard feeling. What a Champion. The highlight of the tournament in my eyes was when Myles yelled out GO DAD and several father turned their head and smiled. It is great to see a young student so supportive and respectful of his favourite role model DAD.

07.01.2022 I am proud to announce that after 30 years of dedication Chief Instructor John (CI John) has been promoted to 5th Dan Black Belt at a recent combined Sydney Regional Grading. History: We first met in 1997 (20 years ago). Two years later CI John received his 1st Dan in 1999 and was promoted to Branch Instructor of the Oatley Dojang and has been teaching there ever since.... Since 1999, CI John has achieved his 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Dan black belts but is happiest when his students learn new skills and gain confidence through his training. I am proud to say that CI John has instructed almost 100 students to achieve their various levels of black belts (this includes a student who he has trained from white belt to 4th Dan). Additionally, four of the other instructors in the region all achieved their black belts under CI John’s instruction. He has also coached and entered a number of students in the National All Styles (NAS) tournaments who achieved very good results and places in the Forms, Points Sparring and Continuous Sparring categories. Locally he has supported local community activities by conducting taekwondo demonstrations for fetes at all the local schools in Oatley and in the surrounding areas on an annual basis for almost 20 years. He also supports me every month when we run a monthly senior class at the Oatley Dojang where adult and senior students from other areas attend. As the Chief Instructor for the St George / Sutherland Regions for United Taekwondo, he is responsible for 8 dojangs and approximately 500 students in the area. In 2016, CI John’s experience was acknowledged and was given Grading Assessor responsibilities by Myself. As a result of our growth and hard work, the St George Region won the 2014 St George Local Business Awards for Outstanding Fitness Services. It has been a long road for CI John, but after his recent performance he has many kilometres to go. This year CI John is going to be inducted into Australasian Martial Arts Hall of Fame (AMAHOF) with Chief Instructor Brett Canning from Canberra Region. Whether you are a white belt or have achieved the rank of black belt we have up to four events you can enter. I want everyone to feel what it is like to win their first medal. Remember, the members in your own hall are not only competitors, but are also your support team. When you train with each other it is to help each other become better competitors. This way we can hold a tournament where everyone is a champion for just getting on the mat! Over 20 UTKD halls are invited to compete and if you unsure whether your techniques are effective, there is no better place to find out than on the mat against someone you have never met before. 06.01.2022 GREAT NEWS: This morning we had two specials guess - Chris Chan and Joel Grove (Kick Boxing Champions). They watched on while I conducted a training session. Chris was so impressed by my generosity that he donated $5,000 towards my program of training and feeding underprivilaged children every Wednesday Morning. I was overwhelmed by his generousity as I know I will use this money wisely to further expand the program. Chris also gave all the kids boxing gloves.... We only need a few more supporters and our year will be secured. Master Paul will be doing promotion again at Mount Annan Market Place (12th - 14th January and Narellan Town Centre (19th - 21st Jan) and would appreciate some helpers to hand out brochures to the public and encourage them to maybe start something new and different this year. United Taekwondo entered 5 business award areas in two categories and made the finals in all areas. 10/10 thats what we just did. So far we have taken out Best Fitness Business Camden Wollondilly and with three areas left lets see how we go.... and Just to keep the flow going we just won an Excellence Award for Small Business in Tamworth, which has moved us into the state finals. 02.01.2022 SPECIAL SURPRISE with a funny story: I had a special visit from Chief Instructor Brett Canning from Canberra, with gifts of appreciation. It was unexpected and very much appreciated. He is the funny side of the celebrations: The Chief Instructor arrived a few mins earlier than Kay and myself and when we sat down I was presented with the two gifts. Very close by was a couple having a domestic in a nearby car. I got straight onto the phone to call the police. To my amazement... 3 police wagons showed up as I was reporting the incident, very efficient. I went up to the door of the paddy wagon and said the domestic is across the road. The officer said, we are looking for a big bloke with a sword. When I turned around Chief Instructor Brett was being questioned with the possibility of being arrested. All good in the end

02.01.2022 Dear Master Paul, On behalf of the Disadvantaged Children of India we thank you so very much for the effort you put into helping us raise funds for the building of the much-needed dormitory in Gumpalagudem India. Your generosity was overwhelming. A total of $700 was raised thanks to all who bought cupcakes or generously donated. These funds coupled with the selling of raffle tickets over several weekends raised a total of $6,500.00 to build the new area to house many children... whose parents could not afford to feed and educate them, may have just been abandoned or who are orphaned. The quote we received from the engineers in India which was negotiated by the Carmelite priests who are responsible for these children was Rs323,550 which depending on the exchange rate is roughly the amount we raised. We are grateful to Kim (Victoria's Mum) for making the cupcakes and Byron (Victoria's Dad) for selling them at Rockdale. The charity has been truly blessed. 02.01.2022 CORRECT MINDSET Sound mind, sound body. Sometimes as a student you may feel like you are banging your head against a brick wall. It is possibly because you are training without a purpose or without challenging yourself. To build the correct mindset you need to understand participating in martial arts is not about giving up. When your instructor asks you to do 20 push-ups your first responses might be, I can’t do that, or That’s too hard or I’ve never done that many bef...ore. As a student you need to find an internal challenge to encourage yourself to give your best effort. When you find purpose, you will realise that nothing has really changed in your body’s ability to complete the activity, but your mindset has changed. The prospect of an internal reward gives you purpose to what you are trying to achieve and the determination to complete the challenge. With purpose comes harder work, followed by a positive result and the wonderful feeling of becoming stronger within yourself.

02.01.2022 We Will Remember Them - Lest We Forget Commemorating 102 years Attending the dawn service - Mawson Park Campbelltown Today also marks the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of the Coral Sea... The Battle of the Coral Sea is celebrated annually in Cardwell and commemorates an air and naval battle fought between the Japanese Imperial Navy and US and Australian Naval Forces at a critical stage of the Second World War, from 4 to 8 May 1942 . It marked the first defeat of Japanese forces in the war and was the first joint military action between Australian and United States forces. 01.01.2022 Check this out: 24 hours running / 260 km My friend Luca Turrini and 3 other teams of dedicated runners are at the Sydney Fitness Show running for 24 hours to raise $100,000 for Camp Quality and attempt to break a few records along the way. They are very excited to support Camp Quality in their endeavour to create a better life for every child living with cancer in Australia. 01.01.2022 INSPIRATIONAL STORY: Point Sparring (Grade 2 - Black Belt) Division In the incredible final round for 1st & 2nd Place, Branch Instructor Joseph (Penshurst Dojang) defeated Instructor Alex Ajaka (Carlton Dojang). When the match was over I notice that Alex’s mouth was bleeding. I asked Alex When did you get hit ... Alex said, At the beginning of the match I said, Are you okay with the result as any contact to the face is a disqualification and Joseph was not sure if he contacted Alex to the face. Alex said, All good I spoke to Alex after the match and in true spirit he said, Next time I am coming back for the gold. I said, come with me. I called over Joseph and Alex and asked them Have you ever seen the movie BEST OF THE BEST. Joseph knew the movie well. UPDATE: The movie was a taekwondo competition between USA and KOREA in the end the Korea won the match 32 31, but only because the USA competitor (Tommy) showed control and did not finish off the Korean competitor (Da Han) in the final 15 secs, even though Da Han killed his brother in a tournament just like this one, 20 years ago. Da Han knew that he could have been killed if Tommy did his favourite back kick. When the medals were handed out and while everyone was celebrating the Da Han went over to the Tommy and said these words To save a life in defeat is to earn victory and honour within. Your brother too was a great fighter. I deeply regret your loss and I offer myself as your brother. He them took off the medal and presented it to Tommy. I turned to Joseph and asked him Why did Da Han give the medal to Tommy. Joseph said, Because he did not really win the fight. Joseph realised that he did make contact to Alex's face and took off his gold medal and presented to Alex and Alex presented the silver to Joseph. It was an incredible moment where the true spirit of competition came through.
