08.01.2022 JAMES RUNDLE 300 GAMES Congratulations to James 'Jimmy' Rundle, who will play his 300th senior United Football Club game tomorrow. James is a well-respected member of the Club for both his on and off-field contributions. James has played in four Reserves Premierships from six Grand Final appearances. The first in 1999 came as a Colt in which (some may chuckle now) he was picked purely for his speed. A key player in each of the four Premiership sides, he was the Captain of o...ur famous 2013 Reserves Premiership victory where we came back from over 40 points down against Virginia! James has been at the Club forever, starting Mini Colts in 1989, playing junior grades right through, including a Junior Colts Grand Final in 1993, and regular finals through Senior Colts in what was a very competitive era for our junior grades. James has played 155 A Grade games, and was 2017 A Grade Vice Captain, including the Acting Captain on the infamous day our whole team got reported. James is one of the smartest footballers you’ll find. He often positions himself perfectly and thinks of things other people wouldn’t. A great mark in a contested situation, he has also been one of the best kicks in the senior grades over the years! He received a deserved accolade in 2020, receiving the Reserves Association Best & Fairest Medal! Whilst in honesty James has faired well against most Reserves opponents over the years, he lists his toughest A Grade opponents as Brian Montgomery from Mallalla and Stephen Lange from Two Wells. Jimmy lists the best teammates he has played with as Mark Pym and Kym Jarman, and the best footballer he has played with as Heath Pym. Off-field roles include spending many years on the committee 2007-11 and 2019-current, including roles as Mini Colts Coach (current), Junior Colts Coach (2011-12), Secretary (2008-10), Vice President (2007) and Football Operations group since 2013 and Football Director since 2017 as well as the various roles that all Club people do week in week out. It has been a big week for Jimmy with his 38th Birthday falling on Thursday! He is well supported in his passion for the Club by wife Kirstyn (Long time Netballer) and children Archer (current Mini Colt) and Millah (currently in ‘NetSetGO’). See more
