11.01.2022 We've joined forces with FareShare, Rotary Prahran, Pinchapoo, Coles and Launch Housing to provide packaged meals and toiletries to those doing it tough during the COVID-19 pandemic. Over 220 food and personal care packs are prepared and delivered to homeless people in temporary accommodation across Melbourne each Friday. The packs include frozen meals, breakfast cereals and information about local emergency relief and meals services. ... Thank you to the Today show for highlighting this important work.

CEO Bronwyn Pike spoke to The Age this week, calling on governments to subsidise social housing. Bronwyn also outlined our plan to help address the shortage of affordable housing in Victoria and Tasmania.

09.01.2022 Cliff is one of the growing number of people reaching out to our housing and homelessness services. For the past year, Cliff has been living in a caravan near Ballarat after finding himself homeless through the breakdown of his marriage. Cliff reached out to Uniting when his savings dried up and he was unable to afford the weekly caravan park rent. ... It was a scary time. Living in a caravan isnt ideal, but at least its somewhere to sleep at night, says Cliff. Cliff tried to sign up to receive Centrelink payments, but was told this would have to be done online. "I struggled, because Im not very good at using computers." It was daunting, and I didnt know what to do." With the support of our team in Ballarat, Cliff now receives Centrelink payments and recently received long term housing. #HW2020
