24.01.2022 This week is National Volunteers Week, normally in Ballarat we would be gathering for a meal and handing out certificates for years of service. During this period we cannot hold such celebrations but in our hearts we hold all our volunteers dear. The shops are not the same without each and every team member on board! We look forward to cake, slices and many a cuppa once everybody is back in the retail space. Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers. Stay safe and we will see you soon!
23.01.2022 Our op shops are closed today, but several of our larger shops will be open selected days this week. Please see our website, or call to check days and times. https://www.unitingvictas.org.au/locations/uniting-op-shops/
18.01.2022 Great work Peter.
18.01.2022 Be part of National Child Protection Week. Putting children first means prioritising the safety and wellbeing of children. To grow up well children need to fe...el safe and loved, have a chance to play and explore, have a say in decisions that affect them, and access to essential things like food, shelter and healthcare. For children to thrive we need to come together as a community and put children’s needs first during National Child Protection Week and every week. #Playyourpart in the prevention of child abuse and neglect https://www.napcan.org.au/ncpw-theme/
18.01.2022 I know lots of Victorians have used this time to get to those odd jobs around the house. And there's something very satisfying about doing a big drop at the op-...shop and being able to admire your newly cleaned and sorted wardrobe. But despite some op-shops reopening, many are still closed or not accepting new donations right now. That means when you try to donate goods, they're actually ending up in landfill creating more rubbish and forcing charities to foot the bill. Op-shops should never be dumping grounds for broken or dirty things, and donations should never be left outside business hours. It's unhygienic, it's time consuming and it's dangerous for the people who work and volunteer there. So before you head out, call ahead or check online to make sure the shop you're visiting can accept your items. And remember it's only a donation if it makes it to the shelf.
17.01.2022 We can’t do it without you! Our Delacombe and Wendouree shops will be gratefully receiving donations again from Monday between 10am and 12pm. If you are unable to bring in your furniture donations we do offer a Free pickup service. Please call 5339 6903 Monday to Thursday to register your details.... COVIDSafe practices are in place and some restrictions may apply. Funds raised from your donated items provide Emergency Relief and other support services in our local community. Thank you!

01.01.2022 Food for families: Right now, it’s difficult for us to know what we will be able to do by Christmas. We know the need is there in fact data from our services ...shows that demand for food relief is growing. Food For Families is a way for you to provide practical support this Christmas and throughout the year to come. By donating or supplying food and other essential items, you can ensure people in crisis can access the basics they need to get through a difficult time. Most of our emergency relief services are operating and still accepting donations of non-perishable food and household essential items. So if you have items you wish to donate and can visit one of our drop off points while respecting your local restrictions, please call them directly to confirm any site specific requirements. This will ensure someone will be available to accept your donation at the time you plan to drop past. Thanks to you. https://foodforfamilies.org.au/
