16.01.2022 http://www.ucl.com.au/content/respite Social Support This program is designed to assist those people who have a disability or are frail aged and their carers who may need assistance from our qualified staff to participate in their community. The service provided is designed to suit the needs of the recipients. Some of our services could be (but are not limited to) home visits, shopping, assistance in linking up with their friends, companionship, domestic assistance or letter... writing. Seniors Day Program This program enables people who are frail aged or their carers to participate in a day group activity. The program encourages social networking and community participation in a relaxed and enjoyable setting. The program runs on a Wednesday and may include luncheons and outings as agreed upon by those persons participating in the group.

Our centre based programs at railway parade and Bathurst will operate with minimal supervision and all programs will be changed to be in the centre. We are not be able to offer a pick up or drop off service today. All clients attending will need to make their own way to the centre. We apologise for any inconvenience. 13.01.2022 Community Meeting Bushfire Recovery 9 January 2020 The bushfire situation continues to impact our community in differing ways. Council will hold a meeting f...or all community members impacted by the current and recent bushfires from 4.30 P.M. to 5:30 P.M. on Thursday 9 January at the Lithgow Civic Ballroom, Tony Luchetti Showground, Lithgow. Representatives from Council, other agencies and charitable organisations will be there to listen and understand your current situation. The NSW Office of Emergency Management will be also available to answer questions and help with grant applications.

With the theme Lets do more together, the festival promotes inclusive communities and provides an opportunity for seniors to try new things, contribute, and remain active and engaged in their local communities. Seniors Week aims to both broaden the horizons of older people and build relationships throughout the community. I appreciate the many organisations and groups who have contributed generously to make this years Seniors Festival interesting, enlightening and effective, said Lithgow City Council Mayor, Stephen Lesslie. I look forward to meeting fellow seniors at the Mayors Morning Tea for a cuppa and a chat. Its set to be a great week in Lithgow. The NSW Seniors Festival is the largest festival for people over 60 in the Southern Hemisphere, attracting up to 500,000 seniors across the state to events and online. Formerly known as NSW Seniors Week, the NSW Seniors Festival has continued to grow each year since it began 59 years ago. It continues to set the benchmark as the biggest event program for seniors in the southern hemisphere. In 2017 the festival will run for 5-days from Monday 6 March to Friday 10 March in Lithgow. During this annual festival there are many FREE and discounted events around town to inspire seniors to get creative, try new things, socialise, share skills and keep doing the things they enjoy, together! 09.01.2022 Home Library Service Morning Tea. Lithgow Library will be hosting a community morning tea celebrating the Home Library Service. On Wednesday 29th of March at 1...0.30am we will be gathering at Lithgow Library with current Home Library members, families, carers and other interested community members to celebrate this excellent service. There will be plenty of entertainment with the Lithgow City Band performing, a local belly dancer showing us her moves, the Librarys own Ukulele Group will be leading us in a good old fashioned sing-a-long, and local residents will regale us with a poetry reading. 10:30 am Wednesday 29th March.
