You are invited to an online talk on the whys and hows of installing solar panels- presented by the Clean Energy Council on February 23.... Arising from our Christian concern to care for creation, in 2019 our Synod established the Synod Climate Action Strategy. As part of that we committed ourselves to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This includes among individual members and households, who collectively make up the greatest proportion of total church emissions. One very effective way to reduce our household emissions (and to save on energy bills) is to install solar panels if we are able to do so. 08.01.2022 Rev. Albert Talbot, Dean of St. Andrew's Cathedral laid the first stone of the Holy Trinity Anglican Church in 1916. This early 1920’s photograph of Peakhurst Anglican Church was taken within 10 years of the church's opening in 1917. The church continued as a congregation until closed in November 2006 on the anniversary of it's 90th year. It is heritage listed and amalgamated with St Peter's Mortdale. Nearly a century later times have changed, a busy six lane Forest Road no...w passes the Uniting Church Nursing Home of which the old Anglican Church is a part. 07.01.2022 The Christmas Bowl is one of the longest standing Christmas appeals in Australia. It was established in 1949 by Rev Frank Byatt to raise money for refugees post WW2. On Christmas Day that year, Frank put a Bowl of Remembrance on the dinner table and asked his family to place a gift inside to help those less fortunate than themselves. The first Christmas Bowl raised 1,808. Today, churches have raised more than $100 million.
