13.01.2022 Mask Making Workshop @ Gordon GPUC will be holding a Social Distancing Mask Making Workshop next Friday the 31st July @10 am. We are inviting people to come along and help to make masks which will be distributed within our community. We are also trying to arrange (dependent on how many masks we make) to send some to Melbourne for refugees in the high rise social housing complexes. To make the masks we would be grateful for any of the following items:... Thin or hat elastic- it is difficult to find stock of elastic in the shops at the moment! Cotton fabric (with a dense weave that stops some fluid droplets coming through) Metal bread ties for the nose shaping. Non-woven interfacing If you can supply some cotton fabric could you, please wash it in warm water prior to the session as this helps with shrinkage of the material. There will be tasks for all levels of sewing abilities so please dont feel left out! Could participants please bring along: Scissors Sewing machines Pins/needles Threads Elastic Perhaps power boards Please bring you own morning tea if needed, unfortunately we are not able to serve refreshments or morning tea due to the current COVID situation. I look forward to seeing you at the event. Its a great opportunity for us all to get together and create mask masterpieces. Contact Lesley on [email protected] so that we have an idea of numbers.

10.01.2022 We are very sorry that we wont be holding our annual Wrap with Love Community Knit-in on Friday next week because of Covid-19 restrictions. We know that many of you are knitting during these times of lockdown and isolation - and we thank you for your support. We are still sending completed rugs to Wrap with Love so let us know if you have squares to be put together, or would like to start knitting. Patterns are on the Wrap with Love website. We do hope that it will be possible for us to meet together again in 2021.
