As of today non-contact sport can resume for adults and children. According to Sport & Rec Victoria; Non-contact sport is any sport where you can maintain 1.5 metres between yourself and others while playing. You can play sport with the number of people required to play plus necessary coaches and umpires. Spectators are not allowed, toilets and communal changerooms are open, and canteens, kiosks or at-venue dining facilities can open subject to the industry restart guidelines for hospitality. Gates open at 8am - racing from 10am - 5pm. Please note that with new COVID restrictions we will be using a COVID safe app to register you at the event. It is as simple as taking a pic of our QR code when you pay your entry and entering a couple of details. We appreciate your co-operation with this - as it allows us to keep running events! This weekend is a 'come and try' style event. AASA have partnered with PDA on a number of levels and this event is a practice event. Yes you will be racing your mates - but there is no elimination or competition as such. Drivers do require a AASA Club licence (but can buy a day pass on Saturday for $35). Passengers are $20 - and both must wear a suitable helmet (Australian standards or motorsport approved). We also thank Motorsports Tasmania for allowing us to bring this new form of racing to Tassie and hope to be able to run a similar event at Baskerville soon! As usual our team of helpful volunteer officials will be on site to keep the day safe and smooth running. Without them - we wouldnt be able to deliver events - so make sure you give them a thumbs up and say thanks! We could run a rallysprint category (1 car at a time) or small grids of 4 at a time or possibly more. Surface will be a mix of dirt and tarmac. Would you enter? What car would you enter? Would you come watch? Would you help run these events? This would be exciting and new and suitable for a lot of existing rally and race cars out there. We could host categories for Hyundai Excels or Aussie Cars and of course outright Rally Cross cars. Tag your friends - I need to know if there would be enough interest to get the ball rolling.....

AFR heads (full build sheets available) just had heads and valve train refreshed and dyno tune. Motec M84 ECU, AIM MXL2 dash with smarty cam and full logging and data. T56 magnum gearbox (1 meeting old since refresh and new clutch), 3.9 diff gears (diff just serviced). Shockworks dampers, whiteline adj sway bars, full superpro bushes. Alcon 6 piston monoblock fronts with 365mm 2 piece floating rotors, Alcon 4 piston rears with 330mm two piece rotors. Multiple sets of wheels and spare body panels etc. I have raced the car in the Tassie state championship from 2017 till 2019, Runner up in Sports GTB in 2017, Championship winner in 2018. Class winner at the 2018 & 2019 Symmons Plains Supercar support races. Multiple race and round winners in the Tas Championship. Lap times are 59sec Baskerville and 60sec Symmons Plains. 05.01.2022 WORLD SERIES SPRINTCARS CANCELLED COVID-19s latest casualty is World Series Sprintcars, with the 2020/21 series cancelled due to the ongoing uncertainty affect...ing the entire country. With no timeframe in place for the opening of the West Australian border, Victorias timelines for staging public events in December being uncertain, and Queensland reviewing their border position in December, its impossible for organisers, teams and suppliers to be able to plan and commit to a national tour such as World Series Sprintcars. Wed particularly like to thank the teams and tracks that had committed to running the 2020/21 series, especially the two new venues who were coming on board in Whyalla Speedway Club Inc. and Geraldton City Speedway. Theyll do a great job of hosting World Series Sprintcars when they eventually get the chance. We know that tracks, teams and fans are hoping for some good news, and we hope to be back with a vengeance in 2021/22. In the meantime, when regions and states begin to open back up we urge all competitors and fans to get behind their local tracks and enjoy regional racing when the opportunity arises. Planning for the 2021/22 series will commence in November, by which time there will hopefully be some light at the end of the tunnel.
