14.01.2022 PARAPHRASINGS FROM "A COMPLETE GUIDE TO CHI-GUNG" (PART 1.1) INTRODUCTION Chi-Gung, a system of exercise for self cultivation, allows an individual to take full responsibility for protecting their health and prolonging life. Through Chi-Gung, the practitioner learns to harness the functional forces of the cosmos (HEAVEN), balance them with the elemental energies of nature (EARTH), and harmonise them with the energy of the human spirit (HUMANITY). These three factors are known... as the three treasures TIEN/HEAVEN, DI/EARTH, & REN/HUMANITY, they represent all the forces and factors that affect all levels of human existence...it is through the a harmonious balance of all these factors that we may enjoy health, vitality and increase our longevity and spiritual awareness and so overcome our instinctive fear of death. Chi-Gung () translates literally into english as Breath/Air work or exercise, which by extension implies vitality work (for we can not survive more than 5 minutes without oxygen and so by oxygenating our body we increase its vitality - EDITOR). In classical Chinese thought, however, Chi () is taken to be much more than just air and breathing. Chi is said to be the imaterial energy that constitutes all material form and therefore it is the basic life force of all three human forms, Mind, Body and Soul. Therefore, Chi is the primary factor responsible for human health and disease. And so when we refer back to Chi-Gung (), it becomes an effective way to manipulate the vital energies of life so as to create a harmonious balance that promotes optimun health, giving us longevity, emotional stability and spiritual awareness. Most systems of Chi-Gung involve holding still postures and slow, graceful movements in an attempt to simmulate the eternal ebb and flow the universe, movement and stillness, which constitute the essential YIN-YANG polarities. . . . . . . #health #wellness #perth #westernaustralia #taichi #qigong

This makes it ideal for people dealing with arthritic pain in the hips..., knees and ankles to practice with almost no pain or discomfort in those joints and thus reap all the benefits that Tai Chi has to offer. . 11.01.2022 New research subgests that older chemotherapy patients who engage in low- to moderate-intensity exercise, like TAI CHI, can experience improved mood and emotional well-being. Older adults undergoing chemotherapy often experience higher rates of anxiety and other mood disorders; and treating these problems with medications can cause potentially dangerous side effects. This is why it is desirable to seek safe non-medication treatments that can help improve anxiety, mood disturb...ances and emotional and social well-being in older cancer patients. Several other studies have shown that practicing TAI CHI can be an effective remedy for reducing symptoms of depression and anxiety. Including a study carried out by researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital. Co-author Albert Yeung, a Harvard psychiatry professor who also works in the Depression Clinical and Research Program in the hospitals psychiatry department, explains: "These findings indicate that TAI CHI could be a primary depression treatment for patients... and may also help address the shortage of mental health practitioners" Source links https://www.studyfinds.org/tai-chi-depression-study/ https://psychcentral.com//exercise-may-improv/148395.html

09.01.2022 In 1923 Dr. Otto Heinrich Warburg discovered that if you deprive a cell of 35% of its oxygen within 48 it can become cancerous. Therefore one of the best things that we can do to prevent cancer is to inprove our Oxygen intake and improve our circulation so that the oxygen can be delivered effectively thoughout the body. This where TAICHI can help because the fundamental principles of TAICHI as a health promoting practice are: 1) Increase Oxygen intake through various breathin...g exercises, 2) improve Blood circulation to different parts of the body through specific exercises so as to deliver Oxygen throughout the body, and 3) Improve Calmness of mind to reduce stress and improve the immune system. 09.01.2022 Although the health benefits of Tai Chi are well known, few people realise that Tai Chi was originally developed as an effective grappling art. The ancient Tai Chi masters devised a series of exercises to complement the rigorous Judo-like training. These exercises were designed to fast tract the repair of the practitioners bodies. It is these exercise that are most commonly practiced by the millions of Tai Chi practitioners today. The Martial art of Tai Chi, although not as ...popular today, never disappeared and has continued to adapt and evolve. At Universal TAI CHI we run two different programs, the Intuitive wellness program and the Freestyle Combatives. Our intuitive wellness program focuses on using the principles of TAI CHI to create the right internal environment inside the body for healing to occur. While our Freestyle COMBATIVES program focuses on effectively applying the principles of TAI CHI in a self defence altercation. 08.01.2022 It is quite common to hear during TAI CHI practice to sink the "QI" into the lower DANTIEN and to use your intention to send energetic roots into the ground. In the TAICHI world this is known as grounding, however grounding has a slightly different meaning within western medicine and understanding "medicinal" grounding can have a significant impact on TAICHI practitioners who want to cultivate their health! 04.01.2022 New research shows that compared with aerobic exercise, TAI CHI may be better than aerobic exercise, for improving the overall severity of fibromyalgia symptoms, Aerobic exercise is recommended as a standard treatment for fibromyalgia, but many patients find it difficult to exercise because of fluctuations in symptoms which include chronic widespread musculoskeletal pain, fatigue, sleep disturbance, and prominent physical and psychological impairment, The results of a 52-wee...k trial showed that in addition to fibromyalgia symptom relief, TAI CHI was associated with greater improvements in mood and self-efficacy. the authors of this study wrote: "Participants assigned to the mind-body therapy maintained higher and more consistent attendance than those assigned to aerobic exercise. TAI CHI, which consists of a gentler, low impact meditative sequence of movements with minimal side effects, may be better embraced by patients with fibromyalgia in the long term," Rethinking the Standard Treatment "Despite the well-established benefits of aerobic exercise as a core standard treatment for fibromyalgia, patients in our trial had difficulty adhering to the aerobic exercise program. Three instructors taught tai chi in the study. The outcomes were consistent across these instructors, suggesting that the "classic Yang style tai chi can be deployed in other settings in a standardized manner for fibromyalgia," the authors write. In another accompanying opinion piece, Amy Price, a trauma survivor with chronic pain and a former neuro-cognitive rehabilitation consultant, notes that her "balance was poor from brain and spinal damage, and I could only see the depressing future of being a patient with chronic pain. I didnt expect TAI CHI to work, but thought Id give it a chance...Initially, I could only do ten minutes, three times a week, with constant supervision, because of memory and balance problems. Gradually, over about six weeks, my balance improved and this reduced anxiety and increased strength in my broken body," she writes. She would generally recommend TAI CHI for others with fibromyalgia. The University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, write. "This mind-body approach may be considered a therapeutic option in the multidisciplinary management of fibromyalgia." This study was funded by the National Institutes of Health National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (USA), the National Center for Research Resources (USA), and the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (USA) BMJ. Published online March 21, 2018. Abstract

01.01.2022 PARAPHRASINGS FROM "A COMPLETE GUIDE TO CHI GUNG" (PART1.2) YIN/YANG POLARITY The great principle of YIN/YANG, (polarity) is the basis of all movement and change of all manifested existance. YIN represents all that is soft, passive, feminine, and internal and lower aspects of any field. YANG represents all that is hard, aggresive, masculine, and external and upper aspect of any field. But although YINand YANG differ they are not two distinct types of energy, rather, they are ...complimentary polarites of any given form, function or energy field. This makes them mutually transmutable. The polarity of YIN/YANG is manifested in every aspect of the human body and energy system. Inhalation is YIN and exhalation is YANG. The lower, inner and front parts are YIN, and upper, outer and back parts are YANG. The sacrum is YIN and the head is YANG. Emotions are YIN and thoughts are YANG. The polarity of YIN/YANG also manifests itself in CHI GUNG principles such as: EXTERNAL/INTERNAL. The extenal aspects of Chi-Gung mainly involve controlling movementsof the body. The internal aspects of Chi-Gung manly involve controlling the breath and the mind. MOVEMENT/STILLNESS. The hectic movements of exercise anddaily activity causes the metabolism to fire up which dissipates one's energy reserves and essence. The quiet stillness of meditation cools the fire of metabolism down and conserves vital resources. FIRE/WATER. In the human body, fire is the temporal form of energy created by metabolism and respiration, and water is energy stored in the glands. In the ordinary course of life, Fire flares upward and dissipates itself in the discurssive thoughts, conflicting emotions and the physical activities of life. Water from the glands flows down and out dissipating through sexual activity and stress. The purpose of Chi-Gung is to alter the internal alchemy of the body by keeping the fire energy stored in the lower elixir field and to raise water energy up the spinal column into the upper elixir field where it can nourish the spirit and in doing so it also slows down the aging process And prolong life. The goal of Chi-Gung is to achieve optimun balance between YIN and YANG so as to prevent or cure disease and halt degeneration. . . . . . . #health #wellness #perth #westernaustralia #taichi #qigong #yoga #yin #yang See more

01.01.2022 Master Yuan Xiu Gang talks about Daoism, Martial Arts & Health. (Part One) SUMMARY: Most people practice just to improve their health and so they concern themselves with QI and the internal workings of the body. However the Daoist teachings says that if you want to improve your health first you must change your physical body. Therefore it is not necessary to complicate things by talking about QI and the internal workings of the body. ... The Daoist teachings say that the first step is return to BABY body. In other words to become soft and flexible by eliminating tension from the body. Once you are soft and flexible, everything changes. Because you are no longer tense the organs relax, they are happy. Then when your movements becomes smooth, your emotions also become smooth.Your thoughts become more clear and your heart becomes more quiet. Gradually your mind becomes BABY mind.
