25.01.2022 This week's Student Iso-lympics challenge was photography, and Annabelle Rix took out the top prize for her image of the Perry Sandhills in Wentworth. She said: "The red sand at the dunes has a new pattern every day because of the winds constantly shaping and moving. This is what it looked like the day I visited!" Congrats Annabelle

25.01.2022 Wow... Melbourne is really turning it on today! A big thank you to Ian and the rest of the team for working so hard to get the college in top form for our 2021 cohort #blueskiesfordays #hello2021 #ucmelbourne #universitycollege #unimelbcolleges

25.01.2022 Last week we launched our Student Iso-lympics. The first task was for students to review something they've been reading, listening to, or watching in isolation. The winner was Katherine Shumaker, with her review of the Dissect podcast. Here it is for your enjoyment. Why not check it out. This podcast is a game-changer for anyone interested in the conceptualization, theory, and artistry behind music production. Produced by Spotify Studios, Dissect selects one iconic album per... season and analyses each song in depths you never thought possible. Past seasons have explored the works of Tyler the Creator and Kendrick Lamar, but Dissects current season is its most exciting yet, as it dives into Beyoncés 2016 visual album, Lemonade. Tune in and have your eyes opened to the creative genius of Queen B, as she invites you into her intense and immersive story of generational brokenness and individual healing. See more

24.01.2022 Hard to believe that university exams are commencing soon. If you're finding it hard to get into study mode, check out these tips from former UC student, Jonas

24.01.2022 As Pride Month wraps up we would like to introduce you to our Equity Representative, Allison I was immediately interested in applying for the role because I want college to be a place of growth and discovery for everyone, where they can learn things about themselves and their community that they may have never even thought about before. While it doesn’t give me all the answers, as a queer WOC, my personal experiences have given me insight into the empathy and support ne...eded in a college community. Even though I’m a representative, I think what is more important about the role, rather than being the sole voice of equity, is that people of different genders, race, sexuality, and disability feel like they can come to me and have their opinions heard and respected by college and exec.

23.01.2022 Last week was our final week of the Student Iso-lympics, and the challenge was to be creative and submit anything that expressed your feelings about our time in isolation. A big congratulations to Keniesha Ryan, who won with her sweet little song, Move With Me, which was: "about isolation and how we all need to support each other through this tough time and be kind to others. If we all move as one (figuratively) and everyone does the right thing then we will get out of this." Thanks to everyone who joined in over the last few weeks.

23.01.2022 A massive congratulations to Rachael McDonald and Ben Schultz for being elected as our Student Club President and Vice President in 2021! We can't wait to see where both of you take us in 2021 - hopefully far from a pandemic These two friendly faces were recently profiled in our Iso Profile Series on Instagram - head on over if you would like to find out more about them

23.01.2022 Can you spot the site that would be UC? In 1932, the Premier of Victoria, Sir Stanley Argyle, agreed to grant the triangular site opposite Ormond for a women's college. The site was originally reserved for the Carlton Cricket Club way back in 1873, but they had obtained another site. #bottomright #tbt #uwc #universitycollege #ucmelbourne #unimelb #rmit #monashpharmacy #aculife #vicuni

19.01.2022 Happy 100th birthday to our dearest Lesley! Lesley was one of the very first students to reside at University Women's College (UWC) in 1938. Lesley grew up in Rupanyup and moved to Melbourne to study at the University of Melbourne. She graduated in 1941 with a Bachelor of Science. To this day, her close circle of friends still consists of a lot of her fellow residents from UWC in the late thirties and early forties. Many of you may recall being regaled by Lesley's stories about life at UWC at College events throughout the years - we are looking forward to being able to welcome this living legend back to share her passion for her time at College #milestonebirthday #100 #uwc #ucmelbourne #universitycollege #unimelb
