08.01.2022 Today is Penguin Awareness Day! UC honours student Emma Black is doing her research on the Adelie penguin and their habitat. Emma is working with the Australia Antarctic Division, with her research supervised by Louise Emmerson, Colin Southwell, Duanne White, and Bernd Gruber. Emma shares that for many years, researchers have studied and understood the relationships that Adelie penguins have with the marine environments. However, we still know little about their relationship with the ice-free lands in which they breed. One of the gaps in our knowledge of this relationship is the impact that geological properties have on Adelie penguin breeding habitat. 01.01.2022 Once I started attending virtual studies at UC, my husband and I were finally able to get pregnant and shortly before finishing my degree I gave birth to our daughter, Nona.
