13.01.2022 COVID-19 Testing at Bass Coast Health If you feel unwell with any symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19), however mild, you should be tested. If you have any fever..., chills, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, and loss of sense of smell or taste - stay home, dont go in to work; dont go shopping; and dont visit friends and family. Get tested and stay at home until you get the result. Waiting times for test results are variable, and may take up to 5 days due to the increase in testing demand across Victoria. Some groups (such as healthcare workers and COVID contacts) are prioritised. All symptomatic people who are tested are required to self-isolate until test results are received. Testing is available at Wonthaggi Medical Centre Monday to Friday (0492 036 568 : https://www.hotdoc.com.au//wonthaggi-respiratory-/doctors), Foster Medical Centre Monday to Friday (Ph: 5682 2088), or at the Phillip Island Health Hub (24 hours a day) and Wonthaggi Hospital (10am-5pm, 7 days a week). We will aim to see you as quickly as we can and have increased our staffing to support the increased demand for testing but if you all come at once, please be patient. When you arrive you will be triaged by a senior nurse and you may be asked to wait in your car. You will be provided with information and a contact number that you can ring at any time while waiting. In the event that your wait is longer than one hour, the senior nurse will contact you and reassess your symptoms and initiate any treatment that may be required. See more
