20.01.2022 15 DIET TIPS TO GET SHREDDED AND LOSE THE GUT You want to get shredded for summer and get the pipes out Of course you do ;)... For most guys the training is not the hard part Lets be real, its about the food. Below is some diet tips to help you get it on track, reduce the gut, and roll into summer in with a wardrobe of "t-shrit optional. Here's some suggestions: 1. Load most of your carbs around when you will be hitting the weights. The biggest carb portion for the day will be best utilised in your post workout meal. 2. Consume at least 6 fist size servings of veg per day. Split this up over several meals. 3. If in doubt - eat meat and veg 4. Each meal needs a serving of protein (the size of your palm) - poultry, fish, seafood, meat, beans, tofu, tempe 5. Drink at least 3L of water per day. 6. Dont drink your calories. Stick to zero calorie drinks like black coffee and diet soft drinks. 7. Be sure to include any oils that you use for cooking into your calorie intake for the day. This will ad towards your fat content so be mindful of how much you use. 8. Use a whey protein shake to help hit protein targets each day. 1 per day will be fine, even on non-training days. 9. Reduce fat intake around weight training (before and after) as fats slow down absorption of nutrients. 10. Go shopping for your groceries each week. 11. Prep some of your basics like, proteins and carbs in advance. They will last for at least for 3 days at a time once cooked. 12. Buy pre-packaged bags of salad from the supermarket to help make meals quicker and convenient. 13. Frozen veg is totally fine to use. Again this is to help make healthy meals if you are time poor. 14. If you eat too much volume of food try skipping bfast and reduce your meals down to just 2-3 meals per day. 15. Use smart choices for flavour that are low in calories - hot sauce, mustard, vinegar, salsa, herbs and spices - are best to use
