22.01.2022 TOMORROW | Theres buckets of rain predicted for the first day of O-Week Not our usual preference (we prefer buckets on the court) but the UNSW Basketball Club team will be repping inside the Roundhouse from 10 AM until 1 PM instead! Come stay dry and warm indoors, pick up an information flyer & sign up/renew your registration for Term 1 sessions start in Week 1 If you need help finding the Roundhouse, ask one of the Arc - UNSW Student Life yellow-shirt volunteers or check out your campus map - its just off the main walkway from Anzac Parade. The UNSW Fitness & Aquatic Centres Mixed 3x3 basketball tournament begins tomorrow and UNSW Basketball Club members have a 10% DISCOUNT OFF REGISTRATION, bringing the cost to only $72 per person! 20.01.2022 Our team of 8 representatives from the UNSW Basketball Club are spending 24 hours straight on campus for charity! The Arc - UNSW Student Life Phil Fun-A-Thon is underway for 2019, and Jake, Josie, Ella, Nathan, Emma, Aidan, Nelson & Anthony have already raised a HUGE $2.7K for the Sydney Childrens Hospitals Foundation, coming in with the 3rd highest donation tally Were the ONLY Arc Sport UNSW club to participate this year too! 18.01.2022 UNSW BASKETBALL CLUB ARE SUSPENDING ALL SESSIONS FROM TODAY UNTIL MONDAY, APRIL 13TH Due to the escalating coronavirus situation & our club following protocol from Arc Sport UNSW, Basketball NSW & Basketball Australia, we have made the tough decision to suspend our weekly sessions from today until the Easter break. We would like to reinforce that, as far as we're aware, no members of UNSW Basketball Club have tested positive for covid-19 and this is a precautionary move o...nly. Over the weekend, Basketball Australia recommended all competitions to be cancelled. Likewise, Basketball NSW made the decision to cancel all their managed programs, events and fixtures until further notice. As a group operating under these bodies, we will cohere to the same plan, effective TODAY. The executive team greatly apologies for any inconvenience caused to our wonderful student & alumni members, however the health and welfare of everyone at this time is our top priority We are currently in consultation regarding membership fees and will provide further information in due course - please appreciate this is a difficult and unprecedented situation for student executives to work around. 14.01.2022 In light of recent events regarding the coronavirus, the UNSW Basketball Club will continue to run as we are in the same position as Arc Sport & the university itself. Our exec team will keep you posted on official updates from UNSW management regarding this, if anything changes. If you are attending our sessions on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays, please take extra steps to ensure hygiene & health. We recommend the following from Basketball NSW: Carefully follow the precaut...ions provided by government If you have been overseas, please self-exclude from major gatherings, including our sessions, for a period of time Be self-aware in regards to how you feel - if you feeling unwell, do not attend our sessions Do not attend university or work if you have been overseas/feeling unwell Think about hygiene and what this includes; washing hands post-game, shaking hands/touching other players - respect it as being optional DO NOT share equipment such as whistles, water bottles or sweat towels Basketball is a non-contact sport but youre in close proximity with team mates and opposition. Please take the precautions you think are necessary to make sure we lower the risk of COVID-19 at UNSW Basketball Club & UNSW in general
