22.01.2022 Good afternoon everyone, As mentioned in our previous post, as part of their recognition of the need for student voices to be heard during the restructure process, the Faculty has offered the opportunity for students to make a general submission on matters which they consider to be of the highest of value or importance to their experience as members of the UNSW Law community and the matters which they would like to have clarified by the Dean when he sends out his communicati...on to students explaining the restructure. It is important to acknowledge that Faculty has stressed they believe these changes will improve students' learning experience and the pedagogy of the Faculty. Nonetheless, they hope this opportunity will help frame communications from the Dean to provide transparency to students about the changes and alleviate any concerns. Should you wish to make a submission, please fill in the form below. Responses can be as short or as long as you feel is necessary. Like all of our forms it is anonymous, however we do ask you to state whether you are an undergraduate or postgraduate student and the year of your degree to help identify the differences in perspectives across cohorts. The form will close on Monday 19 October 2020 (Monday Week 6) at 5pm to allow the Reps to write up the general submission on behalf of students and submit them to the Dean in time with the restructure schedule. Thank you in advance for your contributions. https://forms.gle/2PfjTEeSR6jhtVBZ9

21.01.2022 Good evening everyone, We hope you are all well! On Friday 17 July 2020, UNSW sent an email to all students providing an insight into what the ‘return to campus’ process will look like in T3. Included in that email was a link to a message from the Law Faculty Head of School, Professor Andrew Lynch, which provides a comprehensive overview of how Law courses will operate in T3. ... We have attached the message below for any students who might have missed the link. We encourage all students to please take time to read this document carefully and in full. The document is extensive but provides very detailed and useful information for all Law students. The Law Student Representatives have been briefed on Law School plans for T3 and will be happy to assist if you have any questions. Feel free to send us a message via our communication channels or write your question in the comments below. All the best with your studies for the rest of this term! 20.01.2022 CALL FOR AGENDA ITEMS: Next Monday, 28 September 2020, the Law Reps will be meeting with the Heads of Faculty at one of our regular Student Rep Meetings. If students have any questions, issues or concerns which you would like us to raise with Faculty then we urge you to please use the communication channels listed on our Facebook page to send these agenda items through. All matters are dealt with confidentially. As always, we will provide you with a summary of the matters d...iscussed at the meeting. One of the issues which the Reps will be raising is the recent restructure of the Faculty. We will be seeking more information about how the changes will impact teaching and learning and we will also be communicating the student messages of support for our fantastic teachers who are going through a very tough time. Additionally, if students have concerns or are experiencing any issues with the T3 teaching model we urge you to please let us know. We know Faculty are keen to hear students initial feedback about the T3 teaching system so they can implement any necessary adjustments as soon as possible. Finally, despite the extreme hardship that COVID-19 has brought on students this year and the difficulties associated with online learning, some students have been writing to us to say the new resources created for online learning may have created an opportunity for us to assess where we can better integrate online resources within face to face teaching and what sorts of resources are most beneficial for students. The Reps would be interested in hearing what kinds of online resources and materials you think should continue to be used even when a full return to campus occurs. This feedback will provide a valuable opportunity for students to have a say in the future of their learning at UNSW. If you have a view on this matter then please feel free to contact the Reps through our usual channels or comment on this post below. Thank you for engaging with us and helping us to represent our student community to the best of our abilities! We hope you have had an enjoyable start to T3! UNSW Law Student Representatives 2020.

08.01.2022 OCTOBER UPDATE: Dear UNSW Law Student Community, We hope you are all well! Over the past fortnight, the Reps have had numerous consultations with Faculty regarding a number of important matters. Whilst we sincerely apologise for not being able to update you earlier, please see below a comprehensive summary of recent issues discussed including the Faculty restructure, the use of the CBD Campus in 2021, Law School Summer Term Offerings, Law Electives in 2021 and the use of onl...ine materials from 2021 and beyond. Despite its length, we encourage students to read this summary in full as it contains important information for all students. This is the first of a series of communications that the Reps will be posting over the coming days so please stay tuned to our Facebook page for further updates. Of note, we have requested information from the Faculty about what contingency plans are in place for T1 2021 if border closures persist due to the COVID-19 situation and we will update you as soon as this information is provided to us. Please feel free to contact us via our communication channels or post a comment below if you have any questions or concerns arising from these matters. All the best for your mid-term assessments! 04.01.2022 START OF T3 2020 MESSAGE: Dear UNSW Law Students, Welcome back for T3 2020! We hope that you were all able to take some time off over the holidays to have a break and enjoyed the short hiatus from readings.... For those starting their time at UNSW Law this term, welcome! The Law Student Representatives are an elected group of UNSW Law students who represent all students (UG/JD/Postgraduate) by meeting with the Faculty on a regular basis and also sit on Faculty Academic Boards and Committees to ensure student voices and concerns are heard. Please make sure you like our Facebook page as this where we send out important updates and messages for students. Should you have any immediate questions or concerns please feel free to contact us via the channels outlined on our page! For both new and returning students, as we move into a new term and yet another teaching format with this ‘blended mode’ of some students face to face and others online, the Law Reps wanted to reiterate that we are still here to assist you with any queries or concerns that you have about this term and to provide your feedback about this new format back to Faculty. The Reps have been in constant communication with Faculty Staff throughout the planning, transition and implementation of the T3 learning format and Faculty are asking us to regularly update them about how students are feeling about T3 so they can make any necessary modifications as soon as possible. Please continue to use the communication channels outlined on our Facebook page to get in touch with the Reps and communicate any questions or concerns you have or provide any feedback you would like us to share with the Faculty. Without your feedback we cannot be as effective at attempting to improve students' learning experience. The Reps have been working hard behind the scenes to address all concerns raised about T3 so far and will continue to work hard to help students get the most out of T3. We will of course share any important information or developments on our Facebook page as they come to light. Finally, 2020 has been the year where we have faced challenges that many, if not all of us, did not think we would ever face in a lifetime. The start of T3 marks the start of the final stretch of what has been an extremely difficult year, but a year where we as a student community have demonstrated so much resilience to push through what we hope is an experience we never have to go through again. The Reps want to thank students for the way they have worked with us so far this year to enable us to do our jobs effectively and work with Faculty to provide the best student experience possible. We look forward to doing the same this term and we wish you all the best for your studies in T3! Good luck! Regards, UNSW Law Student Representatives 2020
