15.01.2022 MEET ANDY! If you hadn't thought about registering for our upcoming 2021 NSW Negotiations Competition, meet our amazing Convenor, Andy, to get you fired up for some diplomacy! Rates: La La Land, redwood trees, whales, French Existentialists, Autumn, PhilosophyTube... Hates: bad-faith criticism of online activism, ending discussions saying it’s subjective What do you do in your spare time? I play guitar, watch mindlessly pleasant videos, but ultimately, I enjoy the feeling of having spare time. Having downtime in this day and age is more precious than gold. Why should people participate in the 2021 Negotiations Competition? In the end, we’re just a bunch of high schoolers playing a pretentious version of Dungeons and Dragons. It’s fun!!! Registrations are open now, sign up HERE: https://unyouth.org.au/event/nsw-negotiations/

15.01.2022 2020 has reminded us in the most powerful way that we are closely interconnected and only by working together and in solidarity we can build resilience against future pandemics and other global challenges. Today on the United Nations 75th anniversary, the UN asks people around the world to share their vision of #TheWorldWeWant. Now is the time for us to unite under the common goal of creating fairer policies and practices for a brighter future in Australia and throughout the world. #youthempowerment #un75

07.01.2022 On Saturday the 19th of September, UN Youth NSW held our September State Council for our volunteers. We were privileged to be joined by the Honourable Mitch Fifield, the Permanent Representative of Australia to the United Nations. This was an exciting first, and a way to enable our volunteers a unique opportunity to meet someone with firsthand experience and extensive knowledge in International Affairs. Mr Fifield provided us with a deeper understanding of the nature of leade...rship involved in, and required by, the day-to-day role of being a diplomat and Australia’s national Ambassador at the United Nations. He spoke about the way young people can shape and work in the International Affairs Sector and gave insights into teamwork and collaborations skills required to work with relevant stakeholders. We would like to thank Mr Fifield for joining us and proving an incredibly insightful keynote speech and Q&A session for our volunteers. We would also like to give a shout out to our Director of Development, Prabhleen Kaur, for organising such a fantastic guest speaker for our September State Council.
