After spending four years on-site as a Mechanical Engineer for the Fortescue Metals Group, Melanie is now based out of Perth working for Salt Lake Potash (a mineral exploration company). While a student at the University of Newcastle, she was incredibly engaged and was involved in Newcastle Women in Engineering, NUSA, the Physics Society, NUracing and Maritime Robotx. Penelope Wilcher Penelope graduated with a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering/Bachelor of Science in 2014. Since graduation, she has been employed as a Process Engineer and Area Lead for multinational food company Mondelez International, home to some of Australia's favourite brands. These include Kraft Peanut Butter, Vegemite and Cadbury. She is currently in a leadership role overseeing Cadbury Easter eggs! Layla Hosseini Layla recently completed her Doctor of Philosopher (PhD) in Chemical Engineering at the University of Newcastle. Throughout her PhD, Layla worked on synthesising and characterising a mesoporous silica nanoparticle with specific characteristics to investigate its applications in water treatment. She is now a Senior Consultant at global engineering company Aurecon.
