25.01.2022 Great to see so many at our dance at The Studio today. Glennis and Bruce won the Monte Carlo, and Wendy won the cash first prize. Our next dance will be at Sulphur Creek Hall on Sunday 3/4/16.

25.01.2022 Ready for a great NYE celebration tomorrow night? We are busy with last minute preparations and look forward to seeing you at Sulphur Creek Hall. Dont forget our Tiaras and Bow ties theme. Dancing to Lesters music from 8pm till late. Lots of laughs, lots of fun and lots of prizes. $10 per person.

25.01.2022 We celebrated the New Year in style wearing Tiaras and Bow Ties last night. What a wonderful night but sadly also the end of an era. This was our last Upbeat dance. Thank you to all of our dancers who supported us over the past 12 years, and no doubt we will come across you again on Tasmanian dance floors. Lots of prize winners - too many to mention, and Margaret and Graham were very excited to win the Monte Carlo. A Happy New Year to all from the Upbeat team.

25.01.2022 Just letting everyone know that an extra two dances have been scheduled in March 2020 - Friday 6th and Friday 13th March (7.30pm to 10.30pm). There are no dances in Penguin those nights, so these are to fill the gap. Hope to see you there!

25.01.2022 Ken and Dorothy took a spin around the floor as we congratulated them on their 63th Wedding Anniversary. We also welcomed Delia and John from Hobart. Kaylene was the lucky cash first prize winner, and Betty and Athol took out the Monte Carlo.

24.01.2022 It's Melbourne Cup time so dust off your fascinator or hat, don your pretty dress, and come along to our dance at Sulphur Creek Hall on Sunday 1pm-5pm.

24.01.2022 Happy New Year and welcome to 2020! Colleen and Russell have expressed their gratitude for all those who attended the dances up to 2019. Even though they are away travelling, the Wivenhoe dance is set to resume on Wednesday 15 January 2020. Please note the changed times, which are now 7.30pm to 9.30pm. We welcomed first-timers, Geoff, Margaret and Marlene, along with David and Sharon who also won the Monte Carlo. Bob Fitz took home the cash first prize. Looking forward to seeing you all again on 6 September.

23.01.2022 Just letting all the Upbeat Dancing followers know that there is an online meditation today at 12noon (Tassie time), for those of you who might be interested. The meditation is to transform the negative thoughts and emotions on the coronavirus and is open to anyone. This is the other type of dancing that I do! Details below.

Amazingly our 5 Launceston friends took home 5 of the 6 lucky door prizes. And Sue S and George won the Monte Carlo. Merry Christmas to all from the Upbeat team, and our Best Wishes for a safe and happy holiday period. We look forward to seeing you all again in 2018.

11.01.2022 Fabulous, fabulous night as we celebrated New Year's Eve, and welcomed in 2016. Ann & Kath won the Monte Carlo, David won the first prize, and Dorothy again won the cash prize (Dorothy collects the little red envelopes and now has 9....she is one lucky lady!). 09.01.2022 Wow, what a day weatherwise, and yet many braved the wind and rain to attend our dance at Sulphur Creek yesterday. Jan and Noel won the Monte Carlo, and Claude was the winner of the cash first prize. We farewelled Bruce who is leaving Tassie to live closer to his family in Cairns. We congratulated Colleen and Russell on their 40th wedding anniversary and they entertained us with a few sequences of the Crackerjack Jive.

09.01.2022 Yesterday was HOT, too hot really, for dancing, but despite that, we all had a fun Sunday afternoon at The Studio. Glennis won the cash first prize, and Terry and Kaylene won the Monte Carlo. Our next dance is in a fortnight (21 Feb), again at The Studio 1-5pm.

02.01.2022 What wonderful fun we had today at our 2015 Christmas dance at Sulphur Creek Hall. Marlene (Prickle) won the cash first prize (second time running), and visitors, Judy and Peter won the Monte Carlo. This is Upbeat Dancing's 10th year, and we recognized one special lady who has been with us every step of the way. Glennis was a little teary when we announced her name. We presented her with a beautiful orchid and a silver evening clutch.

01.01.2022 Fun times at The Studio yesterday, Lester won the cash first prize, and Trix and Graham, the Monte Carlo. Peter and Judy from SA joined us for their final dance before returning to the mainland on Saturday after spending about 6 months caravanning in Tassie. Next dance is at Sulphur Creek on Sunday 5 June. Hope to see you there.

01.01.2022 Rain, rain, rain and wind.....didn't dampen the spirits of our dancers yesterday afternoon at the Sulphur Creek Hall. Lester was the winner of the cash first prize, and George and Sue won the Monte Carlo. We wished Maisie a Happy Birthday, and also George on his 75th birthday. We farewelled Fred and Pauline, who are heading off on Tuesday, for a new life in Ballarat. A lovely couple who will be missed.

01.01.2022 Lovely catching up with friends today at our Sulphur Creek dance. De (who never wins anything) won the cash first prize (again), and Michael and Elaine took out the Monte Carlo prizes. Our next dance is on 15 March at The Studio, and the next Sulphur Creek dance will not be until 3 May. This is because the first Sunday in April falls on Easter Sunday and many of our dancers will be away.
